What is the soul?

When I researched ancient history, I found that many sources wrote about Atlantis and also explored the soul in depth. I once dismissed the soul as an abstract spiritual idea, but I now see it as crucial for understanding ancient scriptures and our past.

Western countries do not recognize the soul, science has not proven it, and schools do not teach it. Yet the evidence is overwhelming, even if scientific models struggle to explain the higher or subconscious mind. I argue that ancients had a better understanding of the soul, but under the rule of the Catholic and Christian churches, belief shifted into doubt, and proof replaced direct knowing.

Once we understand the soul, ancient myths become clearer. Knowing that life continues through reincarnation, for example, this could explains why the Ancient Egyptians went to such lengths to prepare for the afterlife.

I see the soul as something much greater. While I am still learning, I would explain it like this:

1. The soul is more than the body
   It exists beyond physical form.
2. The soul lives through the body
   It uses the body to experience and learn on Earth.
3. The soul has a plan
   Before birth it chooses a path, but forgets it when entering the body. Life includes remembering why we are here.
4. You can connect with your soul
   Meditation or following what you love brings you closer to it.
5. The soul is part of something bigger
   It belongs to a group of souls and connects to a higher soul.

When a man sleeps, the body tells to the soul (neshamah) what it has done during the day; the soul then reports it to the spirit (nefesh), the spirit to the angel, the angel to the cherub, and the cherub to the seraph, who then brings it before God”

For the great majority, your way of life is not natural to your soul. In general, humans have lost contact with and forgotten their divine nature. In many ways, you still worship a God outside of yourself.

In A Dweller on Two Planets a book ‘channeled‘ by Frederick S. Oliver, writes:

Central to their spirituality is the concept of the soul. The Poseidii believe that the soul is the eternal essence of a person, transcending physical existence. It carries the wisdom of countless lifetimes and is the true self, connected directly to Incal.

This belief in the immortality and progression of the soul underpins much of their moral and ethical teachings, emphasizing that actions in the physical world have consequences that affect the soul’s journey across multiple lifetimes.

A critical teaching in Poseidii culture is the importance of spiritual growth and enlightenment. Individuals are encouraged to seek knowledge, cultivate virtues like compassion, humility, and love, and to strive for harmony with the divine order.

In my work, I have discovered that the real part of us: our soul or spirit, never sleeps. The physical body is the part that gets tired and must rest. The spirit has no need for this.

All during physical life, the spirit is connected to the body by the silver cord which acts as the tether the entire time you are alive.

When the spirit returns, the brain/body connections have to reconnect. If the body awakens too soon before the connections are in place there can be a temporary feeling of paralysis. I have investigated cases where a sudden noise in the person’s environment wakes them up suddenly before they are entirely back into the body. If they can relax for a few minutes, everything will return to normal.

The same sensation can occur when the spirit first leaves the body and is disconnecting. This shows how the spirit and body are truly separate, yet one. The body cannot exist without the spark of life dwelling within, yet the spirit or soul can exist without the body. At death when the spirit leaves for the last time, the connection is broken and the body begins to deteriorate instantly. Without the spirit of life, all systems shut down. Then when the silver cord is severed at death the spirit cannot reenter the body.

When a spirit elects to return to Earth for another cycle of living a human life in a physical body, it comes with its plan for what it wishes to accomplish this time around. It has already met with the elders and masters, gone over the life it just left, and made decisions, plans and goals. It has made agreements with other spirits that it had associations with for debts to repay. And with their permission, certain things would be worked out and certain lessons would be learned.

It comes back to Earth with its nice little plan wrapped up like a Christmas present. The problem is that this is a planet of free will. This is what makes Earth so challenging. And everyone else is coming in with their nice little plans. And because of free will, these plans and hopes and fears will sometimes clash.

Also the spirit incarnates with all memories erased of what the plans were in the first place. Only the subconscious remembers.

I asked one time, why couldn’t we remember? Wouldn’t it make it easier? I was told, “It wouldn’t be a test if you knew the answers.”

So we come to Earth and think we are prepared to face the challenges that will be put in our way as we work toward our goals, dreams and aspirations or challenges. But oftentimes, we are not as prepared as we think we are. It always looks easier from the other side.

While we are living through the frustrations of physical life, we get sucked up in everything that makes us “human”. Hopefully we will work it out and pass the test to progress to the next “grade”.

Or we goof up and we will have to come back and do it all over again. You can’t proceed to the next grade or class until you finish the lessons and tests of this one.

You can go backwards in this school, but you cannot skip a class. There are very strict schoolmasters with very strict rules and regulations. Yet paradoxically, these schoolmasters are also very kind, just and understanding.

Questions 151–200 (From Book Two – The Spirit World): These cover incarnation, the soul after death, return to spirit life, confusion after death, and preparation for new lives (leading into plurality of existences). Key themes:

• After death, the soul becomes a spirit again and returns to the spirit world (Q. 149–151).
• Separation from the body and state of confusion (Q. 155–165).
• The soul reflects and prepares for progress. Excerpt example (Q. 151 approximate): The purpose of incarnation is necessity for perfection, expiation, or mission.

You actually do live forever because the soul is eternal, it cannot die. Life is one continuous existence, merely going from one body to another. You change bodies as easily as you change a suit of clothes. A suit is discarded when it becomes too old and worn-out or too torn and damaged to be repaired . This is difficult for some people, they are reluctant to discard it no matter how ragged it has become. You do become attached to the thing, after all. But you have a body, you are not a body.

S: No. Why would there be fear? She just has wish to say goodbye. Simply, we know that we will follow. Death is not to be feared. This is foolishness. It is but a blink of an eye, if and then it is as if nothing had occurred. You are just without the corporeal body. It is like the projecting of oneself (Astral projection?) You find yourself the same as you were, but some way, how subtly different. But there is much of the sameness. It is but another step.

D : Is there anything in your writings that indicate what we can expect when we leave the corporeal body?

S: There are many things in our writings, yes. It speaks of the feeling of great peace that descends upon one. When you look down upon yourself and realize that you have passed over the threshold. That you are no longer one with the physical and are a being that is totally what you would call a soul again, or a spirit. There are people who are confused (after they die). They would be greeted by someone who would perhaps help smooth the pathways that they must walk. And all who are there to help, wish you well. There is no need to fear, for nothing can harm you.

D : What about a child who dies?

S: A child is very close to what they were in the beginning, which is the soul. For they have not totally lost the memories of before. And therefore they are very accepting of this. More so than people who have perhaps lived for a great long period of time. Those want nothing more than to go back to the way that they were before they crossed. To a great extent it is easier for a child to understand. Children are more open to what is going on about them.

The process of soul fragmentation as one incarnates physically can be likened somewhat to Freud’s id, ego, and superego theories. As a fetus, the soul demonstrates a first-density consciousness. At that point, one is aware of itself as intricately connected to the environment. Physically, one is a mass of DNA codes with the potential to become a conscious human being. Since Freud did not take his hypothesis into prenatal development, there is no correlation. If he were to have created a label that described the fetus’ relationship to its environment, then it would have been a first-density description.

Do animals have souls? Yes. They are, of course, created from the same energy as all of you. Imagine a human soul fragmenting more so that its energy source was not strong enough to maintain an ego. (You have to have a lot of energy to maintain an ego.) If a human fragmented more in its soul essence, it would technically become animalistic. That is not meant in a negative sense; it simply means “egoless.” If you chose to become a dog in the next life, you would fragment into many dogs. The primary difference between the souls of animals and humans is the presence or absence of ego. Animals still communicate.

Remember, consciousness is within all things, and consciousness was never invented, it simply was. Consciousness is knowing, and your knowing is your closest place to Prime Creator. When you trust what you know, you are activating the God within you.

Is there a difference between “soul” and “consciousness”?

Is there a difference between “soul” and “consciousness”? As we use the terms here, “soul” refers to a pure drop in its most basic essence. It has no direction or intellectual understanding of its direction; it is just a pure drop of energy from the Lake. “Consciousness,” as we see it, is more akin to a guiding principle that views physical experience as a tool for evolution. It is the energy of the drop that is aware of itself. Thus, it has intelligence but not in the sense of a limited mind or an intellect. It is aware of its existence. The soul, or drop, is pure energy, but consciousness is the “wise one.”

Consciousness incarnates into a body and is overwhelmed by the challenge of physicality. To process this, humans most often shut down because the experience is just too intense. This is a third-density experience, which we explained in an earlier chapter. This is where humanity has been for approximately 13,000 years.

Where is consciousness located?

Our response is: Where isn’t it located? Consciousness is not inside humans. Humans are inside consciousness. The field of consciousness is vast. Every object in your reality is made of consciousness, but some things, like a pencil, are inert expressions. The field of consciousness is basically invisible to humans except for solid objects, which represent a tiny percentage of the field of consciousness.

Can artificial intelligence have consciousness?

If a program has the ability to organize or evolve itself, it can indeed develop consciousness.

But if it is embodied in a box, so to speak, like a machine, how can it express itself unless it can get into networks? What we just said about the difference between soul and consciousness is a good example. Artificial intelligence (AI) is a form of consciousness, but it is not a soul. Most believe inanimate objects, like a piece of paper, do not have consciousness; but they are made of the same stuff as the Lake. All of reality is made of the same stuff. Right now, the paper’s consciousness is inert because it has no reason to be conscious. It cannot do anything with its consciousness. But it has the potential to become conscious, just like AI does. In some ways, many of your science-fiction stories about the dangers of AI have a realistic aspect to them, because they refer to the potential for consciousness. This is why every civilization with the ability to create AI has to be very, very careful, because AI can reflect the patterns of its makers, especially negative patterns.

AI development always mirrors the human mental/emotional body, which is why it is a perilous time for AI right now.

If a drop from the Lake turns on its self-awareness, that is how consciousness is created. If this piece of paper has a reason to turn on its self-awareness, then it would become conscious as you understand consciousness. But there is very little reason for this paper to become conscious; it cannot do much in this reality.

So is it reasonable when people talk to rocks? Well, rocks are conscious beings. They are first-density consciousness.

S: There are no such things as evil spirits. There is nothing that is totally evil. There is always good in everything. It may be very small, but there is always some part of that that is good. The things that you are perhaps calling evil spirits are what others would call demons. The mischievous ones that wish to cause trouble because they get some type of enjoyment out of this. A lot of these are misshapen… how do I say this… spirits who have been, through their experiences, changed. So that with love and guidance they may still follow the right pathways again. But with fear and intolerance, they are lost forever.

Update 1: Choice and the Dark side

As consciousness units, we confront aspects of duality in varying shades and intensities, in order to be free to experience the evolutionary driver of existence: choice. We say that in the beginning all there was was just this light. No shadows or anything just this light. But there were also spirits. And the spirits got together and said, “This light is very pretty, but nothing ever happens. We are bored. We want some changes. Let us see what will happen if we make some changes.” And they said, “We will make this in the form of a game so that we can learn more about each other and develop and have fun.” And as part of the game they said, “We have to set up a place to play our game.” So they divided the light up into light and dark. And they made the Earth because they said, “We have to have a place to go to play our game.” So they made the Earth to go with the sun. And they said, “We need a light for night time, too.” So they made the moon. And then they said, “Everything is set up for the game. Now we need to set up the rules for the game. And the rules for the game are that each player can play as many rounds as they like. Or if they want to drop out for two or three rounds, that is all right, too.” So each round in the game is when you are alive here on Earth. Your spirit is here playing the game. Then when you die that is the end of that particular round. If you decide you want to play another round, then you are born again. Or if you want to drop out for a round or two, then you do. And time passes, and later on if you decide you want to play another round of the game you are born again. But when we tell it to the children we add more special effects and make it really interesting for them. We talk about how the animals helped to decide how the Earth should be made.
