Vegetarian up to the decline of Atlantis
Up to the decline of Atlantis, everyone was vegetarian, although they accepted the animals’ offerings, such as wool, milk, feathers or eggs. They believed that the eating of flesh would lower their frequency and shut down their psychic abilities, so their food was derived from plants, nuts, seeds, berries, eggs and dairy produce. At the beginning all plants were eaten raw, but quite quickly in the evolution of the community they began to cook them lightly.

Local food in season
These principles are still divinely correct at the current time. Local food in season is imbued with perfect nutrients for the people living in that place. In the Golden Age this was understood, and the concept of transporting God-given food somewhere else was inconceivable.

Blessing food
In our current times, the food we eat is often lifeless and the water of suspect quality. In addition, most people no longer bless food and drink. Blessing it awakens the spiritual life force within it. Both Kirlian and aura photographs taken of a meal before and after it is blessed show an amazing difference. The divine shower of light that is invoked literally brings the food to life.

Agriculture
The farmers placed companion plants together for their mutual support and protection, and watched and listened to their plants, telepathically receiving information from them. The mighty Thoth, later known as Hermes Trismegistus, taught the early settlers that there is a harmony and correspondence in every living thing in the universe, including the movement of planets, tides and currents, animals, humans, plants, crystals – everything.
All the cosmos responds to certain harmonies and combinations of notes, which are tuned to the same scale. This means that appropriate tunes and rhythms, synchronised to the cellular structure of a human, will heal that person.
The correct notes will also help plants to grow healthy and abundant. Atlanteans learnt that plants respond to certain types of music and so they sang and chanted to them, using a harmonious, loving vibration to encourage their yield. It was also considered perfectly natural to sit amongst their vegetables and talk to them. This, of course, allowed a flow of prana or life force to be exchanged between humans and nature.
Now, when someone has a special empathy with flowers, which grow abundantly for him, we say he has green fingers. These people inevitably talk aloud or silently to their plants. Love is a cosmic force, which affects humans, plants, rocks and Gaia herself. In modern times many experiments have been undertaken that have shown that plants shrivel and die when bombarded with fractured rock music. In contrast, they grow lush and prolific when played classical music, especially baroque music or sacred Indian music.

The first Atlanteans were sensitive to the vibrations of growing things, which enabled them to live intimately and respectfully with them. In a similar way, spiritually aware people at the present time use deep meditation and visualization to receive information from nature spirits or intelligences. The intelligent consciousness of animate forms of energy in flowers and other plants are often referred to as devas.
Atlantis: Insights from a lost civilization
As the Atlanteans communicated with plants and flowers, they perceived the guidance the spirits of the plants offered them. This included recommendations as to when to plant their crops, which seeds to place in a north-south direction, and how far apart to sow seeds. They learned that leafy vegetables and other garden plants that bore their fruit above the ground did best if they were sowed before a full moon.
Root vegetables thrived when the seeds were planted at the time of a full moon or soon thereafter, before the new moon.
Tomatoes prefer to live alone.
A quartz crystal in the center of a garden was also beneficial.
Atlanteans were in touch with insects as well as with animals. If farmers expected trouble from bugs, they planted an extra field for them. When marauders began to devour their crops, the Atlanteans communicated with their invaders’ leader. They persuaded it to leave with its compatriots and to eat only in the space allocated to them. Atlanteans used many tactics to assure their fields produced vigorous crops.
After sowing in the spring, in order to activate life from seeds, they filled the air with reverberations of loud, persistent drum beats and passionately danced in ritual ceremonies to the Earth. While they circled the newly planted area, regularly kissing the ground, men, women, and children sang as enthusiastically as in a Baptist revival meeting. The powerful vibrations, combined with their compassion for the land, were like an injection into the living Earth, invigorating it with positive energy and stimulating plant growth.
When rain was needed, priests or shamans supervised specific melodious dances and chants whose sounds and rhythms drew energy from clouds and dissolved them, sending moisture down to the Atlanteans’ upturned faces. These stylized ceremonies not only improved the yield of their crops but also increased the people’s personal strength. As they worshiped and immersed themselves in their natural surroundings, they became as one with it and partook of the energy of the universe.
Loving attention, plentiful rainfall, and ample sunshine contributed to successful agriculture in Atlantis, but it was the luxuriant soil that made unusually bountiful crops possible. The productive dirt was a mixture of volcanic ash, pumice, lava, and a small amount of sand and minerals from volcanic eruptions. Plentiful moisture ensured these materials decomposed rapidly.
In the Azores today, on comparable land, the soil is extremely productive and plants grow unbelievably well. For example, clusters of long, tapering, deep blue lupines rapidly reach three feet in height, becoming so plentiful farmers plow them under for fertilizer. Colorful hydrangeas that grow wild substitute for stone walls to define the roads and picturesque fields.

Placing crystals
Around the plants, the Atlanteans placed crystals that automatically vibrated with them, which helped them to grow and kept them healthy. Other plants that were superabundant and tended to take over were surrounded by specifically-programmed quartz crystals to persuade them to remain contained. Dendritic agate enhanced the yield of crops and was used to maintain the health of house plants. It also stabilised the vortices within the Earth’s energy field.

Boji stones are formed of dense sand, with an outer layer containing iron particles and sand so tightly compacted that they feel like iron to the touch. The particular vibration they emanate is beneficial to crops and plants and so these stones were arranged amongst the foliage. There are two types of boji stones, one smooth, which carries feminine energy, and the other with protrusions, which holds the masculine energy. They were used in perfect balance.
Lithium quartz was plentiful and frequently used to heal plants and animals. It also purifies water. Of course this was not necessary in the Golden Age, but later this crystal was placed in pools and drinking water. It is helpful in current times to place a lithium quartz in a jug or glass of bottled, tap or filtered water for purification. If the water is put into a blue glass and placed in sunlight, this can charge up the water with divine energy. Remember, if you pour some of this sacred liquid into a local river or pool, it will act homoeopathically, thus helping to purify and raise the vibration of the larger body of water.
Green tourmaline was popular because it has the power to heal all plants and maintain the energy of the garden. This was partly because it has a strong connection with the devas, the nature spirits that look after trees, plants, rivers, mountains and all aspects of nature.
The farmers were very aware of the elves, fairies, gnomes, salamanders, undines and other nature spirits, and would co-operate with them.
As a result of working in harmony with nature, the farmers produced food that was rich in nourishment in a way that is beyond our comprehension now. It contained prana, divine life force, so that very little food was needed.

Hydroponics
Even in the earliest days the Atlanteans used a form of hydroponics, which ensured that the plants had the right amount of moisture and light. They created covered stands, at waist level, in which to grow their seedlings, providing perfect conditions.
These looked similar to our current glasshouses, but they were made of neither polythene nor glass. Instead they used a highly effective material, which we no longer have the technology to produce.
The five islands of Atlantis that made up Golden Atlantis were spread over a considerable area. There was a huge distance from north to south, which meant there were climate differences. In the north they cultivated grapes, blueberries, boysenberries, cherries and nuts, but it was too warm for apples. Further south they grew oranges, lemons, limes, grapefruit and figs, while in the most southern island, mangoes, pineapples, coconuts, papayas and pomegranates were prolific. Atlanteans loved to make a variety of fruit drinks, especially from pomegranates.

For hundreds of years the Atlanteans maintained heaven on Earth. Sharing, caring, personal development and responsibility were qualities that were nurtured and honoured, so the communities were thriving, happy places.
The High Priest or Priestess who ruled the tribe spent some of their time in the Temple of Poseidon and some in the community, where they were available for the inhabitants to consult. They were revered and loved as people of the highest integrity and honour. Every decision they made was for the highest good of the citizens, who knew this and respected their decisions. Furthermore, because the leaders were just, everyone accepted that the system was fair. It meant that there was a high level of trust between the governors and what would now be called their constituents. Because of this the people also devoted everything to the community. Nothing was sought for personal gain. Until the decline, there was no money, as no one needed it. Produce of every description: food, cloth, furniture, paintings or tools were placed in a central complex and people helped themselves to whatever they needed. As there was plenty for all, no one ever took more than their immediate requirements. Why should they? Open hearts do not fear lack, they embrace abundance. And, responding to the spiritual law of balance, people always gave back in some way for anything they received.

Corn
B: They have crossbred so much with plants that were already here that you really couldn’t find them. One plant that is a possibility is what you call “corn.” Corn has also blended with native plants, but it has more predominant genes from the home planet than other Earth plants.
The Legend of Starcrash
Umaur was the region of the quarries of Poseid and many of its rich mines of mineral wealth. Here, too, were vast plantations, and east of the mountains were regularly planted groves of the rubber tree, the genuine Siphonia Elastica of botany. Here also flourished the Cinchonas, as well as many other trees now indigenous to South America, colonized plants from Poseid. Until planted abroad by Atlanteans, these vegetable treasures never grew outside of Poseid, and today, the wild forests of peculiar South American trees and shrubs are the direct descendants of our regularly cultivated farm and plantation products in Umaur. In that olden time, the Amazon river ran within dykes across the continent, and the trackless sylvas of Brazil were then drained areas of tilled soil, such as the adjacent territory of the Mississippi is today.
Successively we came to the Isthmus of Panama, then over four hundred miles in breadth; to Mexico (South Incalia) and to the immense plains of the Mississippi. These latter formed the great cattle lands whence Poseid drew most of its supplies of flesh-foods, and where, when the modern world discovered it, enormous herds of wild progeny of our ancient stock roamed at will: buffalo, elk, bear, deer, and mountain sheep, all offspring of the remotest ages. I regret to see them so wantonly slaughtered as they are; surely so old a stock might be spared.

Fish
Fish was always a popular item on menus in Atlantis, but some descendants developed a tradition of not eating seafood, such as the Iroquois of North America and the Tuaregs who lived in the Atlas Mountains of Africa. The explanation was that during the terrible destruction, when their ancestors drowned under the waves, fish ate them. Therefore, their predecessors became a part of the fish. To their descendants, eating fish seemed like eating their ancestors. Some Native Americans believed that if they ceremonially speared the fish with a trident, the symbol of Atlantis, it became an acceptable meal.
Atlantis: Insights from a lost civilization
Sumerian texts describe seeds of wheat, barley, and hemp sent to Earth in the distant past as a gift from the god Anu in his Celestial Abode. Archaeologists found that the earliest of these grains are uniform and highly specialized, a developmental process that requires thousands of generations of genetic selection.
Agricultural scientists in Atlantis experimented for many centuries and, probably with the help of extraterrestrials, developed plants for food and medicine. We will never know how widely the visitors from outer space distributed goods and advanced knowledge, and to what extent the seafaring Atlanteans made them available to the rest of the world, but emigrants from Atlantis undoubtedly carried the roots and seeds of many plants to the lands around the Atlantic Ocean.

Decomposing fish
In the matter of food and drink the Atlanteans seem to have been less enlightened. They ate, among other things, decomposing fish; and they drank hot animal blood. The adept kings and the priesthood of Initiates however were purely vegetarian. A certain highly intoxicating liquor was also at that time in vogue, but the populace got so drunk that prohibition had to be introduced.
The source of the text is the book The Story of Atlantis (1896) by W. Scott-Elliot.
We still find the tradition of eating strongly fermented (or “decomposing-style”) fish during celebrations:
- Egypt – Fesikh during Sham el-Nessim
- The consumption of fesikh has roots traceable to antiquity. In his Histories, the Greek historian Herodotus provides a detailed account of Egyptian dietary habits. Among other practices, he records that the Egyptians “eat fish either raw and sun-dried, or preserved with brine”
- Sham el-Nessim, a spring festival dates back over 4,500 years to pharaonic times
- Ancient Egyptians called the harvest season Shemu, which they believed was a day of creation. Offering salted fish to the gods symbolized fertility, welfare, and the persistence of life.
- Iceland – Hákarl during Þorrablót
- Hákarl (fermented Greenland shark) is a key dish during Þorrablót, a midwinter festival
- The Þorrablót is an evening with dinner where participants hold speeches and recite poems, originally to honour the Norse god Thor (Þórr), whose name is taken to be associated with Þorri. Calling the feast a blót (a sacramental feast held in honor of a god in Norse mythology) makes clear the reference to pre-Christian times
- Northern Sweden – Surströmming
- Broader Austronesian cultures (Philippines, Indonesia, parts of Southeast Asia)
