Apollo is the god most people picture when they think of Greek light: the lyre, the laurel, the oracle at Delphi. What surprised me in the sources on this site is how far the name travels beyond Greece. Donnelly hears it in Ireland and in Atlantis, the Oahspe makes Apollo an etherean god who shaped mankind, and modern researchers tie the name to Nimrod and to the NASA moon missions. This page follows all of those roads.
The god of Delphi
Oracle of Delphi places the Temple of Apollo on the southwestern spur of Mount Parnassus and describes the Pythia, the high priestess who channeled Apollo, the god of prophecy, music and healing. Mount Parnassus calls the mountain sacred to Apollo, who leads the Muses. On How Christianity Almost Vanished in 303 AD the oracle of Apollo at Didyma helps push Diocletian into his first edict against the Christians.
Myths of the Olympian
On What Is Mount Ossa? the giant twins Otus and Ephialtes try to pile mountains up to heaven, and Homer gives Apollo the last word:
but Apollo, son of Leto, killed both of them, before they had got so much as a sign of hair upon their cheeks or chin.
Homer, Odyssey 11, translated by Samuel Butler
Mount Tmolus tells of the musical contest between Apollo with his lyre and Pan with his pipes. Mount Cyllene has the infant Hermes stealing Apollo’s cattle. Crows gives the legend of a white crow that served Apollo and was turned black for bringing bad news. On Astynome a priest of Apollo prays, and Apollo sends a plague on the Greek army at Troy.
A sun-god from Atlantis
Ignatius Donnelly reads Apollo as one of the sun-gods of the Atlantean world. On Genesis contains a history of Atlantis he writes:
William Tell never existed; he is a myth; a survival of the sun-god Apollo, Indra, who was worshipped on the altars of Atlantis.
Ignatius Donnelly, Atlantis: The Antediluvian World (1882)

On The Irish Colonies from Atlantis Donnelly links the Irish name for the sun, Grian, to Gryneus, a name of Apollo. On The Phoenician history Philo of Byblos makes Apollo one of three children born to Kronos in Peraea. On PT 11: Researches Into The Lost History of America Stonehenge is proposed as a ceremonial site of Apollo worship.
Apollo in the Oahspe
The Oahspe has a whole Book of Apollo, where Apollo is a Son of Jehovih, an Orian Chief and controller of vortices. The Lords’ Third Book gives him a large role in human history:
Behold, in the time of Apollo, man in his present form was brought into being on the earth.
Oahspe, The Lords' Third Book
The Oahspe timeline on cycles of time counts about 2,800 years from Thor to Apollo and about 3,200 years from Apollo to Sue. On Bon’s Book of Praise the temple of Apollo was devoted to music, dancing and ceremonies.
Nimrod, Osiris and NASA
On The Tower of Babel and Confirming the Nimrod – Osiris – Orion – Apollo Connection Nimrod becomes known after the scattering as Gilgamesh, Baal, Osiris and Apollo, and the speaker ties Osiris, Orion and Apollo to the NASA space program. Nimrod, the Tower, the Beast, Antarctica and Flat Earth gives the same list of names from Skiba.
