I read Eric Dubay’s The Atlantean Conspiracy for the claims a later writer can set beside Plato, Donnelly, Spence, and the geologists he names. The file has no printed page numbers and no chapter numbers. The citations below are file pages. The title page prints no year and no publisher. The file properties give 31 March 2008. The quotes are short excerpts for review and study. I paraphrase the rest.
The essay is 316 file pages. It opens on presidential genealogies and runs a long way through modern politics before it reaches Egypt and Atlantis. I use file page 1, because that is where he states the count he hangs on the title. I use file pages 286 to 297, because that is where he states a place, a date, a people, and a name for Atlantis. Those are the pages I would carry into a comparison.
The book at a glance
- Title: The Atlantean Conspiracy. By Eric Dubay. The only heading on the first page is Presidential Bloodlines.
- Copy I read: a PDF made from a Word file, properties dated 31 March 2008, producer PrimoPDF. The title page prints no year, no city, and no publisher.
- Length: 316 file pages. No table of contents. No chapter numbers. No printed pagination.
- What he claims, on the pages I use: an advanced civilization in Atlantis around 10,000 BC, a flood he figures at about 9600 BC, a Sphinx of at least 10,000 years on water weathering, drowned stone at Yonaguni, in the Gulf of Cambay, and off Cuba, and a worldwide list of Atlas names. He also reads Plato’s island as the human head, the pineal, and seven chakras.
Findings worth setting beside other writers
- His date for Plato. An advanced civilization in Atlantis around 10,000 BC. He says Plato figured the flood at approximately 9600 BC, and that Plato said the account is true (file p. 289). On the same page he quotes Frank Joseph for a civilization 9000 years before Plato, and for Timaeus naming the opposite continent.
- The island, in the Plato passage he prints. In front of the Pillars of Hercules, larger than Libya and Asia together, the way to other islands, rule over the island and over parts of the continent, and over Libya as far as Egypt and Europe as far as Tyrrhenia, which he glosses as Italy (file p. 289).
- Aztlan. Toltecs, Nahuatlacas, and Aztecs, whom he places in South America and among the races that settled Mexico, trace themselves to Aztlan or Atlan, in the Atlantic, lost under the sea. He prints the land as too fair and beautiful to be left willingly (file p. 289).
- The Sphinx. Egyptologists, he says, put it at less than 5,000 years. He puts it at at least 10,000 years on weathering, and he says the Sahara has not had that water for about 10,000 years (file p. 286). The Alford passage he prints on that page has Robert Schoch, Boston University, October 1991, against a date of 2500 BC, with an estimate of 9,000 to 12,000 years.
- Yonaguni. Man-made, underwater since at least 8000 BC, 8 stories high, 500 feet (152 meters) long, right angles, steps, rooms, and a place he calls the Stage (file p. 288).
- Cambay and Cuba. Gulf of Cambay, northwest India, two underwater cities together the size of Manhattan, about 2000 human remains carbon dated around 7500 BC. Ruins off Cuba, 2,200 feet (670 meters) below sea level. Over 200 sunken cities in the Mediterranean alone (file p. 288).
- Flood names he prints. Zisudra and Atrahasis, three thousand years before the biblical Noah. Aztec Coxcoxtli and his wife Xochiquetzal, a boat, 104 years of wandering, a landing in Antlan. Mechoacanesecs of Central America: Tezpi, a boat of animals, grains, and seeds, with his wife and children. Maya: the great mother and the great father. Chickasaw: one family and two of every kind. He says the same story is in almost 600 cultures, and on the next line of a quotation, more than five hundred (file pp. 287 to 288).
- Peoples on his flood list. Inuit of Alaska, Canarians of Ecuador, Tupinamba of Brazil, Araucnaians of Chile, Pehuenche and Yamana of Tierra del Fuego, Sumerians and early Mesopotamians, Hopi, Iroquois, Sioux, and Thailand, Laos, Australia, Japan, China, Greece, Egypt, India, and North, South, and Central America (file p. 288). I keep Canarians and Araucnaians as he spells them.
- The name list. Basques from a continent Atlaintika. A second spelling, Atlantika, for “we live by the sea.” Atland in the Oera Linda Book. Atlanersa, a 5th century BC king of Nubia, “Royal descendant of Atlan.” The rest of the gazetteer is on file pp. 290 and 291, under Frank Joseph, The Atlantis Encyclopedia, pp. 29 to 43.
- Where he leaves it. Many parts literal, and the “1 island ruling over 7” metaphorical, mapped onto seven chakras (file p. 293). The fall and the flood, whether or not physical, likely happened within a person. Atlantis, whether or not a real island, also referenced the soul, the pineal, and the chakra system (file p. 297).
For Plato’s own text, see Timaeus & Critias. For other sites, see Where Was Atlantis. For a 9600 BC Atlantic land argued from races and customs, see Lewis Spence’s The History of Atlantis. For a 9560 B.C. Atlantic date and the Bahamas, see Andrew Tomas’s Atlantis: From Legend to Discovery.
The count he hangs on the title
The page is headed Presidential Bloodlines. His own sentences give one set of figures. The David Icke quotation printed under them gives another.
Did you know all 43 U.S. presidents have carried European royal bloodlines into office? 34 have been genetic descendants from just one person, Charlemagne, the brutal eighth century King of the Franks.
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 1
19 of them directly descended from King Edward III of England. In fact, the presidential candidate with the most royal genes has won every single American election.
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 1
He says this information comes from Burke’s Peerage by way of David Icke. The Icke passage on the same page is a different count. Of the 42 presidents to Clinton, 33 have been related to Alfred the Great and to Charlemagne. 19 of them are related to Edward III, who has 2000 blood connections to Prince Charles. George Bush and Barbara Bush are from the Pierce bloodline, which he says changed its name from Percy when it crossed the Atlantic. The passage ties that family to the Gunpowder Plot. A Michael Tsarion line under the photographs says the Americas have been owned by the same royal families of Britain and Europe.
Abydos, the Sphinx, Cholula, and the flood names
File page 286 opens in the middle of a claim about the Temple of Abydos. He says hieroglyphs there are clearly of a helicopter and other advanced vehicles, and he asks how the current paradigm explains them.
The Sphinx paragraph is his own.
The Sphinx, which Egyptologists say is less than 5,000 years old, is actually at least 10,000 years old based on its weathering alone.
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 286
He adds that geologists confirm erosion by massive amounts of water, and that this water has not been present in the Sahara for about 10,000 years. He says Egyptologists call the weathering wind and sand, and that geologists like Robert Schoch find that hard to swallow. The next paragraph is a quotation of Alan F. Alford, Gods of the New Millennium, pp. 93 to 94.
In October 1991, Dr Robert Schoch, a geologist at Boston University, presented detailed evidence that the Sphinx was thousands of years older than the commonly accepted date of 2500 BC.
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 286, quoting Alan F. Alford
Schoch estimated that the Sphinx had to be between 9,000 and 12,000 years old, when the climate in Egypt was much wetter.
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 286, quoting Alan F. Alford
The Alford passage, as Dubay prints it, grounds that estimate in the vertical weathering in the limestone trench around the Sphinx, which he says geology would read as prolonged rainfall, against the dry weather in Egypt since 2500 BC.
Under a photograph of a stepped pyramid, another Alford passage continues. Dubay’s own next paragraph, on file page 287, turns to Mexico. I keep his spelling of the Mexican name.
Tlahchiualtepetl, the "man-made mountain" in Mexico is a ziggurat three times the size of the great pyramid. The base length of the Pyramid of the Sun at Teotihuacán is identical in length to the base of the Great Pyramid at Giza.
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 287
He says Teotihuacán means “the place where men become Gods,” and that they claim their pyramids and temples were instruments for transforming the soul after death, as the Egyptians did. He groups ancient Tibetans, Egyptians, and native Americans on multi-stage afterlife trials, and he says Maya and Egyptian kings, pharaohs, and heroes die and are reborn as stars. A Colin Renfrew quotation sits in the middle of this. I do not use it as a date.
The flood paragraph is his.
The Noah flood myth from the bible was attributed to Zisudra and Atrahasis in Sumerian/Mesopotamian culture three thousand years earlier.
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 287
In Aztec mythology only Coxcoxtli and his wife Xochiquetzal were forewarned of the flood by God and survived by building a huge boat. They wandered for 104 years before landing in "Antlan."
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 287
The Mechoacanesecs of Central America say Tezpi built a large boat, loaded it with animals, grains, seeds, and escaped the flood with his wife and children.
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 287
The Maya, he says, have the great mother and the great father surviving and repopulating the world. The Chickasaw have one family and two animals of every kind. He closes the page on almost 600 cultures. A quotation at the foot, which continues on the next page, says more than five hundred legends, one man and his family spared, the Western name Noah, the Aztec name Nene, and in the Near East the names that open file page 288: Atra-Hasis, Utnapishtim, or Ziusudra. That quotation is Alan F. Alford again. In it, the Bible has an ark or boat, Mesopotamian records a submersible vessel, and the Aztec version a hollowed-out log, with men saved by turning into fish. Alford, as Dubay prints him, calls the Near Eastern flood a great time divider.
Yonaguni, Cambay, Cuba, and who tells the flood
He lists flood myths from the Inuit of Alaska to the Canarians of Ecuador, from the Tupinamba of Brazil and the Araucnaians of Chile to the Pehuenche and Yamana of Tierra del Fuego, from the Sumerians and early Mesopotamians to the Hopi, Iroquois, and Sioux. He then names Thailand, Laos, Australia, Japan, China, Greece, Egypt, India, and North, South, and Central America. He asks whether the flood is a story, a myth with a metaphorical meaning, or a literal account of global flooding. A Michael Tsarion line on the page says the greatest myth being purveyed is that myths are just myths.
The site claims are his own paragraph.
In Japan the Yonaguni megalith is undoubtedly man-made yet it has been underwater since at least 8000 BC. It is 8 stories high, 500 feet (152 meters) long with internal and external right angles, steps, rooms, and "the Stage."
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 288
He adds huge human faces and head-dresses carved into the stone at that Stage. The cities come next.
About 2000 human fossilized remains have been found in these cities and have all carbon dated to around 7500 BC.
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 288
The cities are two underwater cities in the Gulf of Cambay, northwest India, each measured in miles, together the size of Manhattan. He then gives Cuba and the Mediterranean.
Many underwater ruins have been found off the coast of Cuba 2,200 feet (670 meters) below sea level. There have been over 200 sunken cities found in the Mediterranean alone.
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 288
He says the possibility of a literal flood is not to be scoffed at, and that perhaps only the more specific elements of the story are metaphorical.
Plato’s year, Aztlan, the Basques, and Mindanao
The page opens with Frank Joseph, The Atlantis Encyclopedia, p. 269. Joseph, as Dubay prints him, says Plato tells of an advanced civilization 9000 years before himself, when the Atlantic was navigable, and that Timaeus mentions the opposite continent, which Joseph reads as America, known to the Greeks 2,000 years before Columbus. Dubay’s own paragraph states the years he wants used.
Plato wrote about an advanced civilization that flourished in Atlantis around 10,000 BC. He even said when the flood occurred figuring approximately 9600 BC.
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 289
Nearly 600 cultures around the world speak about a world wide flood caused by angry gods that all but wiped out this advanced civilization.
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 289
He also says Plato made the point that some take Atlantis to be a myth but that it is absolutely true, and that the legends include advanced beings often revered as gods. The Plato extract he prints puts an island in front of the Pillars of Hercules, larger than Libya and Asia together, the way to other islands, with rule as far as Egypt and as far as Tyrrhenia. He glosses Tyrrhenia as Italy. He then asks why a king Atlas ruled Atlantis, a sunken city in the Atlantic, and he names Mount Atlas in Morocco. He says the etymology of Atlas and Atlantic is from Atlantis. The Comyns Beaumont sentence on the page is short enough to keep.
The word (Atlantis) possesses no derivation from any known language of the old world either ancient or modern. Yet, among the so-called 'native races' of America, it is a living word.
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 289, quoting Comyns Beaumont, The Key to World History, p. 19
The American traditions are his summary.
The Toltecs, Nahuatlacas, and Aztecs of South America and all the races that settled Mexico traced their ancestors back to a starting point called "Aztlan" or "Atlan," in the Atlantic.
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 289
He says that land was described as too fair and beautiful to be left willingly, and that it was lost under the sea after a great flood. Aztec temples are Teocalli, which he compares with Greek theos, God, and kalias. The sentence finishes on the next page as “(house/dwelling of).” Europeans in Delaware and Maryland found a river the natives named Potomac, which he says is like Greek Potomos, river. The Basques are his own sentence.
The native Basques of Western Europe also claim to be descendants from a continent called "Atlaintika" which sank beneath the waves.
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 290
He says Basque shares no affinities with any other European language and is very similar to native American languages. The natives of Mindanao are the Atas, with the same flood myth, claiming descent from light-skinned invaders who intermarried with the aboriginals.
The Atlas names
He says the Atlantic and the Atlas Mountains in Morocco equate water and mountains with Atlas, and that the equation is worldwide. The list that follows is his, and at the end of file page 291 he ties it to Frank Joseph, The Atlantis Encyclopedia, pp. 29 to 43. I copy the forms he prints.
- Japan. Atago, a hill in the center of Tokyo, where gods brought civilization. Atagi, Japanese priests protecting wisdom from prehistory.
- Tongo. Ata, a mountain and a memorial to red-haired, fair-skinned gods who blessed the natives. He prints Tongo, not a longer Pacific name.
- Italy and the Basque coast. Italy from Italia from Atalya, “land of Atlas.” Atalya, an ancient ceremonial mound in Biarritz. Across the Atlantic, a holy mountain of that name venerated by the Aztecs.
- The Americas. Atalaia, a small Quechua town. Atalya, a Pre-Incan city, found by archaeologists and confirmed by local history. Near Lake Atitlan in Guatemala, a stone tower called Atalaya. In the names of file page 291: Pawnee sky god Atius, and a flood myth. Nahuatl god names ending in atl. Atlanteotl. Alca on the Gulf of Uraba, called Atlan before the Spanish conquest. Atlan, a Venezuelan village of the Paria, a prosperous Atlantic island of wealthy seafarers from which they escaped the flood. Autlan, home of the Tarascans of Michoacan, inheritors of a drowned island. Atla, an Otomi town in Mexico, and a dance Acatlaxqui with 10 dancers for the 10 kings of Atlantis. Aztec sea-god Atlahua. The great flood Atemoztli.
- Canaries, Morocco, Egypt. Guanche mountains called Ataras, and their Atlas figure Ater. Tenerite (Guanch) people call themselves Atinach, “people of the sky god.” Herodotus, Diodorus Siculus, and others on the Atarantes of the Atlantic shores of Morocco. Atcha, ancient Egyptian for an advanced but sunken city. Gods or heroes Atum, Atfih, At-hothes, and other At names. Choctaw Atchafalaya, “Long River,” whose flood myth he says matches. Atea, the Marquesan ancestral progenitor, like Egypt’s Atum.
- Pacific. Sumatra mountains called Atjeh. Atiamuri, megalithic ruins in New Zealand, which he says contains At and Mu. Atiu, an extinct volcano in the Cook Islands.
- Water and the north. Tuareg Atl for water. The Tuaregs claim descent from the Atlantes of Herodotus and Diodorus. Atlantika, “we live by the sea.” Atla, a giantess, a Norse god. Atlakvith, “Punishment of Atla,” their written record of an Atlantean oral history. Atlamal, “The story of Atla.”
- Oera Linda and Nubia. Atland, the Northern European name for Atlantis in the medieval Frisian manuscript, the Oera Linda Book. Atlanersa, 5th century BC king of Nubia, the name meaning “Royal descendant of Atlan.”
- Crete and the sun. Atao, a Minoan god thought to be Atlas. Atana, a later Cretan dialect name. Aton, the oldest sun deity in Egypt. Atonatiuh, the ancient Aztec sun god. Ra, like Rama of the Hindus, Rana of the Toltecs, Rayam of the Yemen, and the Raymi Peruvian sun festival.
Two of those sentences are his, and short.
Atland is the Northern European name given to Atlantis as shown in the medieval Frisian manuscript, Oera Linda Book.
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 291
Atlanersa was the 5th century BC King of Nubia, whose name meant "Royal descendant of Atlan."
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 291
A Donnelly quotation on file page 290 lines up an Atlas mountain in Africa, an Atlan town in America, Atlantes on the north and west coast of Africa, an Aztec people from Aztlan, the Atlantic, the deity Atlas, and the island tradition, and asks if all of that can be accident. On file page 291 a quotation he signs Francios Lenormant, Ancient History of the East, p. 253, puts the Atlas Mountains in the part of Africa nearest the site of Atlantis, Atlantes near that chain in Herodotus’s time, the name used for the Barbary States and especially for Fezzan and Bilma, and no etymology for it east of the Atlantic. Charles Berlitz, he says, spoke 32 languages and traced world languages to one ancient dialect.
Who he lines up, and the old descriptions of the island
He names believers. Francis Bacon, The New Atlantis. H. G. Wells, Men Like Gods. William Blake. Nostradamus and Edgar Cayce, the two he calls the best-known prophets. Ignatius Donnelly, a Minnesota governor, congressman, and senator, who wrote extensively about Atlantis. Plato, both a literal story and a myth. A Frank Joseph line on Iamblichos calls him a fourth-century neo-Platonist who insisted on the historical validity of Plato’s account and also on its allegorical significance.
The classical notices are his summary, with short embedded quotations.
Silenus told Midas that there was another continent besides the commonly known ones. He said there was "a country where gold and silver are so plentiful that they are esteemed no more than we esteem iron."
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 292
St. Clement, in his Epistle to the Corinthians, said there were other worlds beyond the ocean. Diodorus Siculus, in the passage Dubay prints, has the Phoenicians discover a large island in the Atlantic, beyond the Pillars of Hercules, several days’ sail from Africa, fertile, with rivers, mountains, forests, summer country houses, fish and game, and fruit in all seasons.
He then names “the ancient Greek poet, Heslod,” on the world before the fall. The description he prints has men living like gods, without vices, the earth yielding fruit, humans and animals speaking the same language, and men mere boys at a hundred years old, passing by a gentle slumber. I keep the spelling Heslod.
The long quotation that closes the page, and finishes on file page 293, is Donnelly. As Dubay prints it: the religion of the Atlanteans was fruits and flowers and the sun. In Peru one deity, the sun, was honoured, and the festival was Ra-mi. Quetzalcoatl, called here the founder of the Aztecs, condemned all sacrifice but fruits and flowers. The first religion of Egypt was the same, with temples to Ra. The Phoenicians worshipped Baal and Moloch as the two powers of the sun, one beneficent and the other injurious.
Seven islands, the Canaries, and the top of the head
He says Homer, Plutarch, and others mention islands several thousand stadia from the Pillars of Hercules, and he asks whether the pillars, and Atlantis, are real or metaphorical, or both. The Canary tradition is a Frank Joseph passage, The Atlantis Encyclopedia, p. 130, quoting Marcellus.
The figures in that passage, as printed: in 45 A.D., Marcellus, in Tois Aethiopikes, recorded that the inhabitants of the Atlantic island of Poseidon preserve a tradition of an Atlantic island of not less than a thousand stadia, which Dubay’s quotation glosses as about 115 miles (185 kilometers), which governed all the islands of the Atlantic. Pliny the Elder, in the same passage, says the Guanches were the direct descendants of the disaster. Proclus, circa 410 A.D., says they still told the story. A second quotation, Didot Müller, Fragmenta Historicorum Graecorum, vol. IV, p. 443, has Marcellus on seven islands in the Atlantic, probably the Canaries, whose people remember a greater island that dominated them.
Dubay’s own reading of the seven is the sentence I would set beside Plato’s ten.
Many aspects of the Atlantean myth must be literal, but others must be allegorical. The idea of 1 island ruling over 7 sounds more metaphorical.
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 293
He says the Canaries can be counted as 7, 8, 9, 20, or 1, and that any of those counts is arbitrary. Perhaps Atlantis had dominion over the seven chakras. An Acharya S. quotation, continuing onto file page 294, pairs Mayan Chacla with Hindu chakras, K’ultanlilni with kundalini, chilambalam with Tamil Chidambaram, Yok’hah with yoga, the goddess Maya, and a founder Votan or Wotan identical with a Teutonic god. Dubay’s own lines say Mayan and Indian chakra, kundalini, and yoga share sounds and meaning, and that Maya means illusion in both languages.
The etymology he wants for the head is Alonso de Molina.
But in the Nahuatl language we find immediately the radical 'a', 'atl', which signifies water, war, and the top of the head.
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 294, quoting Alonso de Molina
He identifies the book as Molina’s 16th century dictionary, Vocabulario En Lengua Mexicana y Castellana. The quotation says Atlas and Atlantic have no satisfactory etymology in any language known to Europe. Dubay asks why one meaning is the top of the head, and he says atl is in the names of most of their gods. Sanskrit Atl, he says, means to support or uphold, as Atlas holds the world.
He then maps the body. The pineal is the 6th chakra, the third eye, at the geometrical center of the brain. Plato’s ceremonial column at the midpoint of the Temple of Poseidon, at the center of Atlantis, is the human spine. He says the column, whether oak, Tree of Life, or staff of Moses, is the spine with 33 vertebrae, and that the medical term for the vertebra which holds up the skull is Atlas. Atlas has 7 daughters around the Tree of Life. The body has 7 chakras around the spine. A Frank Joseph passage on the same page describes the tree sacred to Atlas, a pillar cult remembered in Kritias, and the 10 kings shedding a bull’s blood on that column.
The island as a head
This is his own map of Plato onto the skull.
Plato described Atlantis as being shaped like three concentric circles of land separated by concentric circles of water. In other words the shape of a bull's-eye.
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 295
He says the center of a target is called a bull’s-eye, the Atlas vertebra holds up the brain, the third eye is at the center of the brain, and the center of Atlantis is a bull’s-eye. The skull Atlas holds up is shaped as Atlantis is described. At the center is the third eye, separated and surrounded by fluid. Next is the cerebral cortex. Around that, flowing blood. Around that, the skull. Sacrificial bull’s blood over the exterior of the Temple of Poseidon matches, he says, the blood over the exterior of the brain.
A Frank Joseph passage lists bulls in Sumer, Egypt, Assyria, Minoan Crete, Greece, Rome, Iberia, and Ireland, all with a deluge and a king identified with a bull. In pre-Celtic Ireland the new monarch bathed in bull’s broth and drank it from a golden cup. The Egyptian Hape, Apis in Greek, was the sacred bull of Memphis and roamed free in a courtyard of the temple, like the bulls at the Temple of Poseidon.
Dubay’s closing sentence on the page makes the identification.
If the Temple of Poseidon (between your "temples") is your brain then Atlantis' bull's-eye is your third-eye/pineal gland which literally "roams free in the courtyard of the temple" because it is surrounded by water/fluid.
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 295
Bull’s-eyes, he says, are red, white, and black, the same colors as Santa, the Amanita muscaria, and the flag of Egypt.
The white island, the garden, and his last word
File page 296 is mostly Frank Joseph and Donnelly. Joseph, The Atlantis Encyclopedia, p. 209, as Dubay prints him: in a West African flood, Obatala is the Yoruba Atlas. Oba is kingship. Atala means white. Priests wear white and offer white food, white kola, and goats, which Joseph ties to Canary goat cults and to the Iberian Basque. Obatala is King of Whiteness, the white-skinned ancient ruler, by a native woman, Oduduwa. He was a giant in the middle of the sea. Seven chains at the end of the deluge may be the seven Pleiades. Westward, Aztec Aztlan was the White Island. Eastward, Hindu Attala, or Atala, was the White Island. A second Joseph quotation, p. 33, puts that White Island in the Mahabharata and the Puranas, in the Western Sea, a mountainous home of a civilized race, and says Atala sank in a violent storm.
The Donnelly quotation on the same page says nations west of the Atlantic look east for their origin, and nations east look west, so the lines converge on Atlantis. The Garden of Eden, four rivers from one parent stream, he finds among Scandinavians, Chinese, Tartars, Singhalese, Thibetians, Buddhists, Hebrews, and Brahmans, and among the civilized races of America. Montezuma said to Cortez that the fathers dwelt in Aztlan, which means whiteness.
Dubay’s own sentence, and a one-line Beaumont quotation, are the ones I keep.
The Bible stories featuring a garden, tree, serpent, and golden apples are known the world over and they originate from the Atlantean legend.
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 296
The history of the old testament is the history of Atlantis.
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 296, quoting Comyns Beaumont
File page 297 quotes Donnelly on a Toltec garden, a tree, a serpent, a woman who was mother of mankind, and a race of giants. It quotes Frank Joseph on the Tree of Life as the spinal column, seven chakras, the seven Hesperides, and the golden apples. Dubay then states his conclusion.
In other words the "fall" and the "flood" whether or not they happened physically, likely happened within an individual or on a spiritual level.
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 297
Atlantis, whether or not was a real island continent heading an advanced global civilization, likely also referenced the soul, the pineal gland, and chakra system within the individual.
Eric Dubay, The Atlantean Conspiracy (file dated 31 March 2008), file p. 297
The same paragraph says the most sacred secrets of the Masons and of world royalty pertain to the chakra system, the amanita muscaria, DMT, and kundalini yoga’s activation of the crown chakra. The page then returns to long quotations on kundalini. I stop the findings there.
Where I leave the book
The pages I would actually carry are file p. 286 (Sphinx, at least 10,000 years, and Schoch’s 9,000 to 12,000 against 2500 BC), file p. 287 (Tlahchiualtepetl, Teotihuacán, Zisudra, Atrahasis, Coxcoxtli, Xochiquetzal, 104 years, Antlan, Tezpi, almost 600 cultures), file p. 288 (Yonaguni 8000 BC, Cambay about 7500 BC, Cuba 2,200 feet (670 meters), 200 Mediterranean cities, and the flood list), file p. 289 (around 10,000 BC, approximately 9600 BC, Aztlan or Atlan, Beaumont on the word), and file pp. 290 and 291 (the name list, Atland, Atlanersa).
File pp. 293 to 297 are a second shelf. They tell me he keeps a literal reading and an inner one together, and they give the Canary figures of 45 A.D., a thousand stadia, about 115 miles (185 kilometers), and Proclus circa 410 A.D. I would not enter the pineal, the 33 vertebrae, or the mushroom colors in the same column as the 9600 BC sentence.
The file before the Sphinx is a political essay. File page 1 states 43 presidents, 34 from Charlemagne, and 19 from Edward III, beside a quotation that says 42 and 33. I leave that disagreement on the page. I do not treat it as a claim about Plato’s island.
Where to read it
The book is in copyright. The copy I used is a PDF whose properties are dated 31 March 2008. The title page prints the title and the name Eric Dubay, and no year, city, or publisher. The quotations in this review are short excerpts for review and study. A reader who has the file can check a file page, because the file has no printed page numbers.
FAQ
Where does Eric Dubay place Atlantis?
In the Atlantic, in front of the Pillars of Hercules, larger than Libya and Asia together, with rule as far as Egypt and as far as Tyrrhenia, which he glosses as Italy. He also uses an American Aztlan or Atlan, a Basque Atlaintika, an Oera Linda Atland, and a Hindu white island in the Western Sea. From file page 295 he also places the plan of the island on the human head.
What year does he use?
Around 10,000 BC for the civilization, and approximately 9600 BC for the flood, both stated as Plato’s (file p. 289). Beside those, his own Sphinx sentence says at least 10,000 years, the Alford passage he prints says Schoch estimated 9,000 to 12,000 years in October 1991, Yonaguni has been underwater since at least 8000 BC, and the Cambay remains are carbon dated around 7500 BC.
What sunken sites does he name?
Yonaguni, 8 stories and 500 feet (152 meters), underwater since at least 8000 BC. Two cities in the Gulf of Cambay, together the size of Manhattan, about 2000 remains around 7500 BC. Ruins off Cuba at 2,200 feet (670 meters). Over 200 sunken cities in the Mediterranean. He also treats the Sphinx weathering, and a helicopter among the Abydos hieroglyphs, as evidence that the usual Egyptian dates are too late.
Does he think the island was real?
He says many aspects must be literal and others allegorical. He defends a literal flood on file p. 288. He calls one island ruling seven metaphorical, and he maps those seven onto chakras. On file p. 297 he says the fall, the flood, and Atlantis likely happened within a person, whether or not they were also a physical island and a physical flood. The dates are still printed.
