I read Edgard Armond’s Os Exilados da Capela for the claims a later writer can set beside Plato, Donnelly, Spence, and Scott-Elliot. The copy in front of me is in Portuguese. Copyright 1987, Editora Aliança, São Paulo. The quotes below are short excerpts for review and study, translated into English from his Portuguese. I paraphrase the rest. Page numbers are the printed footers of this file.
He calls the book a sketch of the spiritual evolution of the world, not a work of erudition. The warning page names three sources: the Genesis of Moses, Allan Kardec’s A Gênese, and A Caminho da Luz, by Emmanuel, psychographed by Francisco Cândido Xavier. The findings I would carry are the star, the map of the early lands, and the Atlantis dates in chapters VII and XIV to XVI.
The book at a glance
- Title: Os Exilados da Capela. Subtitle on the imprint page: Esboço sintético da evolução espiritual no mundo.
- Author: Edgard Armond, 1894 to 1982, as the catalog card prints the life.
- Edition I read: Copyright 1987. Editora Aliança. 1st edition, 3rd reprint, March 2001, from the 181st to the 190th thousand. The catalog card also prints São Paulo, 1999, and 176 pages. This file has its own printed page numbers. I cite those.
- Length: twenty-two numbered chapters. Chapter I opens on p. 7. Chapter XV, on Atlantis, opens on p. 44. Chapter XVI, the fifth race, opens on p. 50.
- What he claims: exiles from the star Capela take bodies in successive root races. The third race has its centre on Lemuria. The fourth has the Great Atlantis, then a remnant island, Poseidonis. He prints two Maya years, 8452 BC and 4292 BC, a Troano count of 8,060 years, a Himalayan line of 11,446 years for the last island, and the Sais figure of 9,500 years before the priests.
Findings worth setting beside other writers
- The star. Capela, alpha of the constellation of the Charioteer (Cocheiro), also called Cabra on earthly maps. About 45 light-years. In kilometres, 4.257 followed by 11 zeros. Northern hemisphere, bounded by the Giraffe, Perseus, and the Lynx. On the zodiac, between Gemini and Taurus. Arthur Stanley Eddington (1882 to 1944): a gaseous star, density that can be confused with the air we breathe, yellow, a sun in its youth, and therefore inhabited (p. 7). An editor’s note sends the reader to Kardec, O Livro dos Espíritos, p. 188.
- Lemuria, the third race. From the heights of Madagascar east and south, over the present Indian Ocean, down to Australia, including Polynesia (p. 22). On p. 42 he adds the south of Africa, Ceylon, Sumatra, and New Zealand, and the old Hindu name Shalmali Dvipa. First land inhabited by man. It sank, taking millions. He dates that sinking at 700 thousand years before the dawn of the Tertiary (p. 42).
- The Great Atlantis. A continent from south to north over the region now occupied by the Atlantic, which inherited the name (p. 22). With it, the upper part of North America, one arm toward Greenland and one toward Asia across the Pacific. The fourth race settled in those two regions.
- Hyperborea. An arctic continent from the North Pole to about parallel 80, over European territory. Later the home of the fifth race, the Aryas. He says the arctic and antarctic hold 90 percent of the ice on Earth, and that buried forests lie in ice from 4 to 2,000 metres deep (p. 22).
- Poseidonis, the small Atlantis. After the great continent sank, a large island remained, from the north coast of Africa to the latitude of the present Sargasso Sea, east to west. Footnote: 3,000 km by 1,800 km, which he figures as 5,400,000 square kilometres, a little more than half of Brazil, from European soundings (p. 47).
- Two sinkings, his Maya years. Traditions of the Maya, survivors, speak of two cataclysms, one in 8452 BC and another in 4292 BC. He reads these as two partial sinkings. The Great Atlantis went first, the event he assigns to the Troano. 4,160 years later, the part that remained, the Pequena Atlântida, went under (p. 46).
- The Troano, as he prints it. A manuscript “O Troiano,” from excavations in the Toltec country, south of Mexico, kept, as far as he knows, in the British Museum. Year 6 of Kan, on 11 Muluc, in the month of Zac, earthquakes until the 13th of Chuem. The region of the Clay Hills, the country of Mu, was sacrificed, shaken twice, and vanished in the night. Sixty-four million inhabitants. This was 8,060 years before the book was composed (p. 46).
- The other clocks on the same event. A Himalayan “mahatma,” quoted on p. 48: the last island, Poseidonis, sank 11,446 years ago, and about 700 thousand years separate the Lemurian catastrophe from the Atlantean one. Priests of Sais, speaking to Solon six hundred years before our era: Atlantis submerged 9,500 years before the time in which they lived (p. 49). He also gives the apogee of Atlantean civilisation a duration of 70 thousand years (p. 48).
- Seven sub-races, in his spelling and his order. Romahals, turanianos, mongóis, and travlatis were separated toward the north. Part crossed to Asia by the western bridge of Alaska, chiefly into China. Part reached Hyperborea. Toltecas, Semitas, and Acádios stayed, and later degenerated. His colour notes are on p. 45.
- Where the survivors went. Raised America: Aztecs, Mayas, Incas, and redskins. North African coasts, chiefly the Egyptians. The Hyperborean coast to the east, where colonies of the same race already stood (p. 49).
- What the sinkings did to the map. Great Atlantis: America rose to the west, centre, and south, with the Andes. The eastern outline was completed. Cape Verde, the Azores, the Canaries, and other high parts kept the name of the drowned land, the Atlantic. The Alps rose (pp. 48 to 49). Small Atlantis: Africa was completed by the drying of Lake Tritonis and the making of the Sahara. The isthmus of Gibraltar broke, and the present strait and the Mediterranean were formed (p. 49).
For Plato’s own text, see Timaeus & Critias. For the seven sub-races in another telling, see William Scott-Elliot. For a 9600 BC Atlantic land, see Lewis Spence’s The History of Atlantis.
Chapter I. The star (p. 7)
The chapter opens on the constellation of the Charioteer. A great star drawn on earthly zodiacal maps received, on Earth, the name Cabra or Capela. He says the constellation is a group of stars of several sizes, and that Capela, of the first magnitude, is the alpha. If our Sun were put in its place, he says, we would hardly see it.
It lies about 45 light-years from the Earth, a distance which, in kilometres, is represented by the number 4.257 followed by 11 zeros.
Edgard Armond, Os Exilados da Capela (Editora Aliança, copyright 1987), p. 7
On the celestial vault Capela sits in the northern hemisphere, bounded by Girafa, Perseu, and Lince. On the zodiac, between Gemini and Taurus. Known from the remotest antiquity, it is a gaseous star, according to Arthur Stanley Eddington (1882 to 1944), of a matter so fluid that its density can be confused with the air we breathe. Its colour is yellow, which he takes as a sun in full youth, and a sun, he says, must be inhabited by a highly evolved humanity. The editor’s footnote points to Kardec, O Livro dos Espíritos, p. 188.
Chapter VII. The map (p. 22)
He gives the geography of the time of the third race in five blocks.
In the east, Lemuria ran from the heights of Madagascar east and south, covering the region now held by the Indian Ocean, down to Australia, including Polynesia. Beside it, central Asia, limited on the south by the Himalaya, running west into the Pacific, and on the east ending in a great sea that rose from south to north through the regions now held by India, Baluchistan, Persia, and Tartary, and ending in the sub-arctic. A footnote says this is a geographical division from before the last wars. This east, he says, was the central habitat of the third race.
The continent formed by the Great Atlantis, which stretched from south to north over the region now occupied by the Atlantic Ocean, which inherited its name.
Edgard Armond, Os Exilados da Capela (Editora Aliança, copyright 1987), p. 22
North America, in its upper part, then formed two arms, one toward Greenland and one toward Asia across the Pacific. In those two regions the fourth race later settled. To the north, a continent he names Hiperbóreo covered the North Pole, more or less to the height of parallel 80, over the whole European territory. Arctic and antarctic, he says, hold 90 percent of the ice on Earth. Palaeontology, from scientific expeditions, shows real forests, now buried in ice from 4 to 2,000 metres, and proves that thousands of years ago those regions had a perfectly habitable temperate climate. This north was later inhabited by the makers of the fifth race, the Árias.
Beyond the five continents, tradition gives a Primeiro Continente, Terra Sagrada, Terra dos Deuses, the cradle of the first Adam. He says this is Capela itself, which after the descent of the exiles came to be thought of as a region tied to the Earth.
Chapter XIV. Lemuria goes down (p. 42)
The vast continent of Lemuria, central nucleus of the third race, sank, taking millions of rude, vindictive, selfish, and animalised beings to the bottom.
Lemuria disappeared 700 thousand years before the dawn of the Tertiary Age.
Edgard Armond, Os Exilados da Capela (Editora Aliança, copyright 1987), p. 42
He calls it, in Hindu literature, the old Shalmali Dvipa, comprising the south of Africa, Madagascar, Ceylon, Sumatra, the Indian Ocean, Australia, New Zealand, and Polynesia, and the first land inhabited by man. The atmosphere was still very dense, the crust not very solid in places. By some traditions the Lemurian did not yet have sight as we have it: two sensitive patches in the orbits, affected by light, while inner perception was well developed. The third root race was only beginning physical life. Most of the population lived in primitive conditions and degenerated into a savagery he still sees in tribes of parts of Asia, Australia, and the islands of the South Pacific. He offers the Aboriginal people of Australia, dark, and in his view still unassimilated, as a living remainder, and the animals of Australia as still like those of that time.
The cataclysm, he says, completed the raising of Asia. Waters west of that continent ran north and south, and new lands rose in their place: Europe, Asia Minor, and Africa in its upper part.
Chapter XV. Atlantis, the fourth race (pp. 44 to 49)
The third race of the east is, in its great mass, extinct. Progress moves to the west. Incarnations of the exiles increase in the Great Atlantis, the habitat of the fourth race, where deputies of the Christ had already prepared the ground. Remainders of the third race, including primitive types, go on being reborn in retarded peoples. The exiles in Atlantis were more evolved and less savage than the Rutas of the east, and still, he says, they did not live a more perfect conduct.
He quotes a description of the primitive men of the fourth root race: high stature, a very receding forehead, loose black hair of round section, unlike the oval section of the men who came later, and ears set well back and high on the skull. The head of the perispirit still stood somewhat outside the physical body. At the root of the nose was a point which in present man corresponds to the origin of the etheric body, not to be confused with the pituitary, which sits farther in, in the sella turcica. That separation, as in animals, gave the Atlanteans a singular entry into etheric worlds and ample psychic powers, which degenerated and led to the destruction of the continent. In the last times, when they lived on Poseidônia, after the earlier sinkings, the two points had drawn together, and they had full physical sight.
On p. 44 he names three, in this order and with these spellings: romahals, Travlatis, Toltecas. On p. 45 he sets all seven in two lettered groups. I copy the names as printed.
Separated, his footnote 13:
- romahals. Giants, dark red.
- turanianos. Colonisers, yellow.
- mongóis. Farmers, yellow.
- travlatis. Mountaineers, dark red.
The mass that stayed, his footnote 14:
- Toltecas. Administrators, copper-red.
- Semitas. Warriors, dark.
- Acádios. Navigators and merchants.
On p. 44 Travlatis is capitalised. In the lettered list on p. 45 it is travlatis.
The first sub-race, romahals, had little perception and small development of feeling, and a large capacity to distinguish and name what they saw and at the same time to act on it. They developed the rudiments of language and memory, knowledge earlier sketched and interrupted in Lemuria. The Travlatis developed personality and the sense of royalty, and adored ancestors, chiefs, and directors. The Toltecas developed animism and respect for parents and family. They started organised governments, separate nations, and autonomous governments, and so, he says, the patterns of prehistoric civilisation that reach our knowledge. Atlanteans in general were strong, alert, of dark-red or yellow skin, beardless, dynamic, tall, and excessively proud.
On p. 45 they build a powerful empire. Rivalry and ambition predominate. Psychic faculties are turned to those ambitions. Missionaries from on high come down to harmonise them. According to some mediumistic revelations, the planetary Christ incarnated twice there.
there the planetary Christ incarnated twice, under the names of Anfion and of Antúlio, as he had already done earlier, in Lemuria, under the names of Numú and Juno
Edgard Armond, Os Exilados da Capela (Editora Aliança, copyright 1987), p. 45
He marks the whole sequence as what some mediumistic revelations say. The one sentence on p. 45 names these appearances, in this order and with these spellings:
- Lemuria, earlier. Numú and Juno.
- Atlantis. Anfion and Antúlio. He says the planetary Christ incarnated twice there.
- India, later. Krisna and Budha.
- Palestine. Jesus.
Inferior forces won. Great masses had to be separated, chiefly romahals, turanianos, mongóis, and travlatis. Part flowed to the north of the continent. Part of those passed to Asia by the western bridge of Alaska, settling chiefly in China. Another part reached the Hyperborean continent, in the arctic, north of Europe, which then offered magnificent conditions for human life.
His footnote 13 gives colours for that separated group. Romahals: giants, dark red. Turanianos: colonisers, yellow. Mongóis: farmers, yellow. Travlatis: mountaineers, dark red.
The mass that stayed was the other three sub-races: Toltecas, Semitas, and Acádios. Over a millennial course they made extraordinary material progress, and, as in the east, pride and violence dominated. Footnote 14: Toltecas, administrators, copper-red. Semitas, warriors, dark. Acádios, navigators and merchants. A terrible psychic corruption followed, and a new cataclysm: Atlantis also submerged. Human archives, he says, do not offer positive documentation, still less for Lemuria, so the facts sit in legend. He allows that an extensive bibliography by respectable authors, in every branch of official science, gives acceptable indications. He will not leave the spiritual ground. He limits himself to transcribing one document.
The Troano, Aztlan, and two years
The document is a manuscript he calls “O Troiano,” found in archaeological excavations in the Toltec country, in the south of Mexico, and kept, as far as he knows, in the British Museum in London.
In the year 6 of Kan, on 11 Muluc, in the month of Zac, terrible earthquakes occurred and continued without interruption until day 13 of Chuem.
Edgard Armond, Os Exilados da Capela (Editora Aliança, copyright 1987), p. 46
Unable to resist their terrible convulsions, they sank, dragging sixty-four million inhabitants. This took place 8,060 years before the composition of this book.
Edgard Armond, Os Exilados da Capela (Editora Aliança, copyright 1987), p. 46
The region sacrificed is the Clay Hills, the country of Mu. Shaken twice, it disappeared suddenly during the night. The ground, under volcanic forces, rose and fell until it gave way. The regions were separated and then dispersed.
He then stacks American memories. The Codex Tolteca Tira, the Book of Migrations, mentions migrations of eight tribes that reached the Pacific shores from a land to the east called Aztlan. Mexican legends tell of a terrible inundation that forced the tribes Nahoa and Quinché to emigrate to the far southwest. In old Mexican drawings the mysterious homeland of Toltecs and Aztecs, the land AZTLAN, is a mountainous island, and one of those mountains is circled by a wall and a canal. The redskins of the Dakota keep a legend that their ancestors lived on an island in the east, one nation, and came by sea to America. In Venezuela, Peru, and other places there are white Indians with blue eyes and brown hair. The WARSAN, an Arovac tribe, say their ancestors lived in an earthly paradise, in the east. The Popul-vu, a work in four volumes containing the mythology of the MAIAS in the Quiché language, says the ancestors of that tribe of Guatemala came, very many years ago, from a country far to the east, in the open ocean. One language, men of different colours, and in that time the world was drowned by a deluge while a burning fire came down from the sky. Other American tribes, he says, agree in placing AZTLAN in the ocean, to the east, just where Atlantis was.
The Maya traditions, from peoples who survived, speak of two cataclysms.
This account of the Troano manuscript is corroborated by the Maya traditions, peoples who survived the event, which refer to two cataclysms, one of them in 8452 BC and the other in 4292 BC.
Edgard Armond, Os Exilados da Capela (Editora Aliança, copyright 1987), p. 46
He reads the pair as two partial sinkings, far apart, rather than one general destruction. First the Great Atlantis, the primitive continent, the event in the Troano. Then, 4,160 years later, the part that remained, known in antiquity as the Pequena Atlântida. The sentence finishes on the next page. That remnant is Poseidônis, a region formed by an island of large extent, from the north coast of Africa to the latitude of the present Sargasso Sea, east to west.
This island, a relic of the great primitive continent, had continental dimensions calculated at 3,000 km by 1,800 km, which gives 5,400,000 km2, a little more than half of Brazil.
Edgard Armond, Os Exilados da Capela (Editora Aliança, copyright 1987), p. 47
The footnote adds that the figures come from soundings by European scientists of high capacity.
What he offers as proof
Crystalline volcanic lavas on the Atlantic floor, whose freezing belonged to atmospheric agents, so the volcano that threw them was terrestrial and the lava cooled on land. A great ridge, beginning in Ireland and ending more or less at the latitude of the mouth of the Amazon, in Brazil, rising almost three thousand metres above the mean level of the ocean floor.
Cro-Magnon men were of the Atlantean type, very different from all the others, and existed only in western Europe, on the face fronting the vanished continent, which he takes as proof that they came from there. The Basque language has affinity with no other language of Europe or of the east, and comes close to the languages of the American aborigines. Cro-Magnon skulls resemble the prehistoric skulls found at Lagoa Santa, Minas Gerais. Similar pyramids stand in Egypt and in Mexico, and mummification practised in ancient Egypt was also practised in Mexico and in Peru.
the sounding made in 1923 revealed a rise of four kilometres in 25 years, which agrees with the prophecies that say Atlantis will rise again from the sea.
Edgard Armond, Os Exilados da Capela (Editora Aliança, copyright 1987), p. 47
The floor, he says, is slowly rising, and the prophecy is that Atlantis will rise to replace continents that will in turn sink, in the days we are living. These indications, he says, firmly assert a great continent between Europe and America, where the fourth race lived. The dates cannot be confirmed historically. By spiritual tradition, between the sinking of Lemuria and that of the Great Atlantis there was a space of 700 thousand years.
On p. 48 the Atlanteans have a deep knowledge of the laws of nature, above all of earth, water, and air, and many secrets of metallurgy. Their cities were rich in gold. Some palaces were made of that metal. The sub-races spread through all the countries of the world of that time. They cultivated black magic and used elementals and other beings of the subworld. The apogee lasted 70 thousand years and exercised a deep influence on the history and religion of all the prehistoric peoples of the Mediterranean and the Near East.
This root race, like the earlier ones, had seven sub-races. The first four inhabited the continent until it sank. The last three inhabited the great island Poseidonis. The Chinese and the Mongols in general, including the Javanese, are in Asia the remainders of those peoples in their period of natural ethnographic decay.
He then quotes a mahatma of the Himalayas. In the Eocene, still at its beginning, the maximum cycle of the fourth race had reached its culmination, and the great continent, almost the father of all present continents, showed the first symptoms of plunging into the waters. The process lasted until 11,446 years ago, when its last island, which we may properly call Poseidonis, sank with a crash. Lemuria is not to be confused with Atlantis. Both continents collapsed, and the period between the two catastrophes was about 700 thousand years. Lemuria flourished and ended its career in the time before the dawn of the Eocene, because its race was the third. He points to flat-headed aborigines of Australia as relics. The same quotation warns that other, older continents may lie hidden in unsoundable ocean beds, and that in the next cataclysm the present continents, already submitted to autopsy, are to sink while other Lemurias and other Atlantises arise.
The sinking of the Great Atlantis redrew the map.
- America, the future one, rose to the west, in the centre, and in the south, with the cordillera of the Andes.
- The outline of that continent was completed on the east.
- Above the ocean that then formed, and still under the name of the submerged continent, some high parts remained: the islands of Cape Verde, the Azores, the Canaries, and others.
- In Europe, the cordillera of the Alps rose.
The sinking of the Pequena Atlântida did two further things. A new rising in Africa completed that continent, with the drying of Lake Tritonis and the consequent formation of the Sahara, still existing. The isthmus of Gibraltar was broken, forming the present strait of that name and the Mediterranean.
He then sets the Troano and the Maya traditions beside Egypt and Plato.
the Egyptian traditions, revealed to Solon by the priests of Sais, six hundred years before our era, which affirm that Atlantis sank 9,500 years before the time in which they lived.
Edgard Armond, Os Exilados da Capela (Editora Aliança, copyright 1987), p. 49
Plato, in Timaeus and Critias, written four centuries before Christ, confirms these traditions. For the work Armond is doing, which he calls above all spiritual, the tradition is enough.
Survivors of the two cataclysms: part took refuge in the raised America and formed the Aztec, Maya, and Inca peoples, and redskins in general, still existing. Part reached the North African coasts and brought a new contingent of progress, chiefly to the Egyptians. A last part, the one he calls most important for the spiritual evolution of the planet, reached the coasts of the Hyperborean continent, to the east, where colonies of the same race already existed. With these events the fourth race was extinguished, and the field opened to the next.
Chapter XVI. The fifth race (p. 50)
Remainders of Atlantis reach the Hyperboreans and give them a civilising impulse. After changes worked by climate, customs, and crossings with base types already selected by the auxiliaries of the Christ, they establish the white man: elegant and magnificent stature, blond or red hair, blue eyes, a face of delicate features. He prints “cabelos ruivos.” The continent then suffers an intense cooling and becomes hostile. The Hyperboreans emigrate in mass, almost suddenly, south, invading the centre of the European plateau.
He quotes E. Schuré on that exodus. If the sun of Africa incubated the black race, the ice of the arctic pole saw the hatching of the white race. These are the Hyperboreans of Greek mythology. Men of red hair and blue eyes came from the north, through forests lit by the northern lights, with dogs and reindeer, commanded by bold chiefs and impelled by seer women. The race was to invent the cult of the sun and of the sacred fire. Footnote 16 says that sun cult was the primitive cult of all the peoples of Atlantis, kept by the druids and by others who came later, including Persians and Egyptians. He glosses druid as a Celtic term meaning “of God” and “noise that speaks,” an interpreter of God, a medium.
Once settled in the centre of Europe, and before they could fix themselves, they were confronted by blacks coming up from Africa under violent conquerors, who sheltered their hordes under the standard of the Bull, symbol of brute force. The powers on high, to preserve the white stock, polarised their forces in Rama, a young priest of their cult, the first of the great historical envoys of the Divine Master. Rama was given power to fight a terrible epidemic and, with it, prestige. Overriding the priestesses, he took effective direction, raised the standard of the Lamb, symbol of peace and renunciation, and in the moment he judged right led the people toward the side where the next page continues the migration.
Where I leave the book
The pages I would actually carry are p. 7 (Capela, 45 light-years, 4.257 and 11 zeros, Eddington), p. 22 (Lemuria over the Indian Ocean, the Great Atlantis north to south over the Atlantic, Hyperborea to parallel 80), p. 42 (Shalmali Dvipa, 700 thousand years before the Tertiary), pp. 44 to 45 (the seven sub-races, Anfion and Antúlio, the Alaska bridge), p. 46 (the Troano, 64 million, 8,060 years, Aztlan, 8452 BC and 4292 BC, 4,160 years), p. 47 (Poseidonis, 3,000 by 1,800 kilometres, the 1923 sounding, 700 thousand years between the two sinkings), p. 48 (70 thousand years of apogee, Poseidonis 11,446 years ago, Cape Verde, Azores, Canaries), and p. 49 (Lake Tritonis, the Sahara, the breaking of Gibraltar, Sais at 9,500 years, survivors in America, Egypt, and Hyperborea).
He says himself, on p. 45, that the archives do not offer positive documentation, and on p. 49 that for this work the tradition is enough. The dates are what he contributes to a table. They are not yet one date. A reader who has Scott-Elliot will recognise the sub-race names. On these pages Armond does not name that book. I keep his order, his footnotes, and his spellings as they stand here.
The later chapters turn the biblical flood into a third purge, an Asian one, after Lemuria and Atlantis, and then gather the remainders into four peoples: the Árias, the Hindus, the Egyptians, and the Israelites. That frame is his. The comparison I would make with Plato, Spence, and Tomas uses the clocks on pp. 46 to 49.

FAQ
Where does Edgard Armond place Atlantis?
The Great Atlantis ran from south to north over the present Atlantic (p. 22). After that continent sank, Poseidonis remained, an island from the north coast of Africa to the latitude of the Sargasso Sea, east to west, 3,000 by 1,800 kilometres (p. 47). High remnants he names are Cape Verde, the Azores, and the Canaries (p. 48).
What years does he use?
He prints more than one. Maya tradition: 8452 BC and 4292 BC, with 4,160 years between (p. 46). The Troano extract: 8,060 years before that book was written (p. 46). A mahatma: the last island sank 11,446 years ago (p. 48). Priests of Sais, to Solon, six hundred years before our era: 9,500 years before their own time (p. 49). Lemuria: 700 thousand years before the dawn of the Tertiary (p. 42), and 700 thousand years before the Great Atlantis (pp. 47 and 48). The apogee of the Atlantean civilisation: 70 thousand years (p. 48).
How does he divide the fourth race?
Seven sub-races. Romahals, turanianos, mongóis, and travlatis were separated north, some to China by the Alaska bridge, some to Hyperborea. Toltecas, Semitas, and Acádios stayed on the continent and, he says, later occupied Poseidonis as the last three. Colours are in the footnotes on p. 45. I keep romahals and travlatis as he spells them.
What does he do with Plato?
On p. 49 he says Egyptian traditions, told to Solon by the priests of Sais six hundred years before our era, put the submersion 9,500 years before the priests’ own time, and that Plato in Timaeus and Critias confirms those traditions. He does not reprint Plato’s island, and he does not turn the 9,500 years into a single BC year of his own.
