Many of the sources on this site point under the ground. Whole cities cut into rock in Turkey, a temple found by accident in Malta, halls in China that nobody wrote down, and chambers under the Sphinx. Some go further still and speak of cities inside the earth.
I keep two kinds of evidence apart. Some of these places are real and you can walk through them. Others come from channeled sources, and I say so when they do. The question that links them is simple: why did people, or someone, build so much below the surface?
Derinkuyu and the cities of Cappadocia
The best known case is Derinkuyu in central Turkey. In 1963 a man broke through the wall of his basement and found tunnels and rooms. The city goes down more than (279 feet). In 2012 workers in Nevşehir found an even larger one. I follow the finds and the theories about the builders on Archaeologists Discovered a Pre-Ice Age Underground City, with a possible link to Göbekli Tepe.
The Hypogeum of Malta
In 1902 builders in Paola, Malta, broke into soft limestone and found a carved network of halls. See The underground temple found in Malta.

The Longyou caves
In China the Longyou caves have the same problem. Nobody wrote them down. See The Longyou caves in China.
there is no historical record of the caves they are not mentioned in any texts local or otherwise

Under the Sphinx and the pyramids
Giza has its own underground trail. Bashar places a chamber under the Sphinx:
"The Sphinx sitting on an underground box, an underground chamber of mysteries and secrets."
Bashar

On The Sphinx I collect his view that the base holds chambers with Atlantean information. The videos add more:
- Eight pylons under Giza as a channeling: Pamela Aaralyn speaks of eight hollow pylons under the pyramid.
- Metatron on mines under the Giza pyramids: Metatron compares the claims with how Roman mines worked.
- Jahannah James on lost ancient skill: two scanning teams found the same chamber.
- Nagas and an underground city in Egypt: Praveen Mohan links serpent beings to a city under the Khafre pyramid.
Beneath this pyramid, as you are aware, lie eight hollow vertical pylons arranged like spokes in a wheel descending hundreds of feet into the earth.
Pamela Aaralyn, Eight pylons under Giza as a channeling, at 4:35
Two completely different independent scanning teams have found the same measurement chamber on their scans underground.

The skeptical side
The claims about Giza have also been answered, and I think the answer deserves a fair hearing. On Noah’s Ark and the Giza Tunnels: How New Claims Get Shot Down I follow the 2025 claim by Corrado Malanga, Filippo Biondi and Armando Mei that satellite radar shows shafts and giant chambers under the Pyramid of Khafre. Zahi Hawass called the claims “nothing but fabrications”. Lawrence Conyers of the University of Denver, a specialist in radar for archaeology, said that satellite radar cannot reach such a depth. In August 2026 the journal Remote Sensing retracted the earlier 2022 paper by Biondi and Malanga on corridors inside the Great Pyramid. Even Metatron, who is open to a find under Giza, does not follow the reading of the scans:
I just don't think that the explanation presented by Corrado Malanga is fit and reliable.
Metatron, Mines under the Giza pyramids, at 1:24
For me that does not close the case for chambers under Giza. It does mean that the radar claims are not the proof they were sold as.
Shelters from the end of a world
Why go underground? One answer is to survive. In the Zoroastrian story of Yima and the Vara, Ahura Mazda warns of an evil winter and Yima builds an enclosure to keep life safe. For me that is a flood or ice age memory, and it fits with underground cities as shelters.
Kircher’s world under the world
The idea of a world under our feet is not new. In 1665 the Jesuit Athanasius Kircher published Mundus Subterraneus, twelve books on the inside of the earth. On Mundus Subterraneus (1665) I read his view of canals that run from the sea into the mountains, his Atlantic island of Plato and the flood. He also writes that in 1634 he saw with his own eyes a whole city near Livorno that had gone under the waves:
Ad littus Thuscum non procul Liburno integra urbs undis cessit, hominum habitaculis in piscium latibula conversis, quod non sine horrore anno 1634 propriis oculis observavi.
Athanasius Kircher, Mundus Subterraneus (1665), Tomus I p. 80
Telos and Mount Shasta
Channeled sources take the idea further. They say that the Lemurians built a city, Telos, under Mount Shasta after their continent sank. On Telos: in the core of earth I collect the details on its government, homes and daily life. Stewart Pearce says:
As you know, many Atlanteans transmigrated into the core of the Earth. And this, as we have suggested, was over 12,000 years ago.
Stewart Pearce

Inner earth and Agartha
The last step is a world inside the planet. On Inner earth I set the hollow earth theory next to Bashar, who says people who think they went inside the earth crossed into another dimension. On Elder races lived in the earth I follow A Spacewoman Speaks. The Why Files looks at the legends in The Search for Agartha.
With modern technology like ground-penetrating radar, new caverns and chambers are discovered all the time.
