LifesBiggestQuestions presents a buried temple in Malta as a find that standard timelines struggle to hold. In 1902, while house foundations were cut in Paola, tools broke into soft limestone and opened a void. On this telling it was not a natural cavern but a carved net of halls, made by hand long before Egypt’s famous pyramids. The channel credits museum director Themistocles Zammit with digging it carefully and praising the builders. Red spirals cover the stone. A small clay image of a woman on a couch, the Sleeping Lady, is offered as a mother figure whose cult stays just out of reach. Thousands of bodies were placed with care. One small room is said to strengthen a very low tone, a pitch some researchers link to trance, so the building is cast as a ritual instrument as well as a tomb. Giant folklore appears only as later legend. The unexplained cave of the title is this site, as the channel tells it.
