Palenque

The Legend of Votan

Chiapas is known for its rich cultural history, including ancient Maya ruins such as Palenque, and its diverse ecosystems, including rainforests and highlands.

Votan and the Founding of Cities: In the same context, Clavigero also describes how Votan is credited with founding Palenque, a significant ancient Maya city, though this part of the tradition is more speculative and mythological.

Votan’s connection to Palenque ties him to the broader Maya civilization, which is known for its architectural, mathematical, and astronomical achievements.

The Origin of Our Alphabet

Now, if we turn to the ancient hieroglyphics upon the monuments of Central America, we will find the human face appearing in a great many of them, as in the following, which we copy from the Tablet of the Cross at Palenque.

For instance, we find this sign on the walls of the palace of Palenque, ; this is not unlike the form of the Phœnician t used in writing,  and ; we find also upon these monuments the letter o represented by a small circle, and entering into many of the hieroglyphs; we also find the tau sign (thus  ) often repeated; also the sign which we have supposed to represent b, ; also this sign, , which we think is the simplification of the letter k; also this sign, which we suppose to represent e, ; also this figure, ; and this .

But here, in the Maya alphabet, we are not only able to extract from the heart of the hieroglyphic the typical sign for the sound, but we are able to go a step farther, and, by means of the inscriptions upon the monuments of Copan and Palenque, deduce the alphabetical hieroglyph itself from an older and more ornate figure; we thus not Only discover the relationship of the European alphabet to the American, but we trace its descent in the very mode in which reason tells us it must have been developed.

The Story of Atlantis

The identity of design in the pyramids of Egypt and those of Mexico and Central America is too striking to be a mere coincidence.[12] True some—the greater number—of the American pyramids are of the truncated or flattened form, yet according to Bancroft and others, many of those found in Yucatan, and notably those near Palenque, are pointed at the top in true Egyptian fashion, while on the other hand we have some of the Egyptian pyramids of the stepped and flattened type.

Altea Region

The Brotherhood of Light played a vital role in the Altea Region, using it as a base for connecting energy networks with sacred sites like Chichen-Itza, Palenque, and Oaxaca.

This region contains sacred grids and energy complexes, which form a triangle from Palenque to Cerro Rabon in the West and Chichen-Itza in the East.

Famous Sirian people

Pakal, also known as K'inich Janaab' Pakal or Pacal the Great, was a prominent ruler of the Maya city-state of Palenque (in modern-day Mexico) during the 7th century.

He commissioned the construction of some of the most notable structures in Palenque, including the Temple of the Inscriptions, which served as his tomb.

Under Pakal's rule, Palenque experienced a period of cultural flourishing, marked by impressive architectural projects, sophisticated artwork, and scientific advancements.

His dynasty continued to rule Palenque for several generations after his death, leaving a lasting legacy in the history of the ancient Maya civilization.

Mayas

In Mexico, notable sites include Chichen Itza, Palenque, Uxmal, Yaxchilan, and Tikal in Guatemala, as well as Copán in Honduras.

In Chiapas, besides Palenque and Yaxchilan, sites like Bonampak and Toniná are significant.
