William Henry on the Osiris device

In a Portal to Ascension talk, William Henry treats a wall in the Osiris chapel as more than decoration. He reads the raised head and the serpent staff as Egypt’s resurrection emblem, a counterpart to the cross, and he says Egyptians remembered Osiris both as a traveling civilizer and as the machine that carries his name. Isis and her priestesses, in his account, tend the device, and temple images keep working for as long as they are shown. He folds the relief into later scripture: the healing snake Moses lifted, the staff that became a serpent before the palace magicians, and even the idea that Abydos is where that episode happened. Plasma, for him, is the state divine beings take. He thinks the parts kept with the ark, Aaron’s staff, the law tablets, and the manna jar, can be stacked into the same pillar. By the end that pillar is also a map of the body’s centers and a climb toward another realm, with Christ seated in a blue orb he is willing to call plasma.

Key points

  • Henry calls the chapel image Egypt’s resurrection symbol, playing the role the cross plays in Christianity.
  • Osiris is both a civilizing god-man and the device that shares his name.
  • Isis and her priestesses are the ones he says operated the machine.
  • He matches the serpent staff to Moses in the desert and to the contest with the palace magicians.
  • He places that Moses episode at Abydos.
  • Assembling the ark’s staff, tablets, and manna jar is, for him, how one rebuilds the Osiris pillar.
  • He also reads the pillar as the body’s energy centers and as a route toward a higher state.
