Levites vs. Priests

The Kohathites (not to be confused with kohanim) carried the sacred items (such as the Ark of the Covenant, after it was covered).

The Ark of the Covenant held a central and sacred role in the religious life of ancient Israel, and both the Levites and priests (kohanim) had specific responsibilities related to it.

Let’s explore the roles and responsibilities of these groups in relation to the Ark of the Covenant:

The Ark of the Covenant (Hebrew: אָרוֹן הַבְּרִית, Aron HaBrit) was a gold-covered wooden chest containing the stone tablets of the Ten Commandments.

The Kohathites (descendants of Kohath, one of Levi's sons) were tasked with carrying the most sacred items, including the Ark of the Covenant (Numbers 4:1-15).

The Ark of the Covenant symbolized God’s presence and His covenant with Israel, and both the Levites and priests were essential to its safeguarding and proper use.

In summary, the Ark of the Covenant was not only a physical object but a profound symbol of divine presence, and the Levites and priests were its stewards, each group with distinct duties to ensure the sanctity of the Ark was maintained.

Atlantean legacy – the Arc of Covenant

The theory that the Ark of the Covenant and the Great Pyramid of Giza played a significant role in the environmental and societal changes in ancient Egypt and Jerusalem involves drawing upon a combination of historical records, archaeological findings, scientific analyses, and textual interpretations.

The granite sarcophagus in the King's Chamber of the Great Pyramid has dimensions that closely match the biblical description of the Ark of the Covenant (approximately 2.5 cubits long, 1.5 cubits wide, and 1.5 cubits high).

The ark of the covenant went inside the center of the pyramid, inside the sarcophagus.

The white powdered gold, a monatomic isotope of gold, which soaks up energy much faster than normal matter, was placed in the ark of the covenant which would then be charged with energy in the center of the pyramid.

The Bible describes the Ark of the Covenant as a powerful and sacred object, capable of performing miracles (Exodus 25:10-22, 1 Kings 8:1-9).

In the biblical book of Numbers, they organized large groups to transport their Ark of the Covenant to the specified location.

Constructed from acacia wood and gold, it featured complex sacred objects like the Ark of the Covenant—akin to a powerful reactor containing divine laws.

In the wilderness during the Exodus, the Tabernacle was a portable sanctuary designed for the specific purpose of housing the Ark of the Covenant and other holy objects.

Beyond this was the Most Holy Place, or the Holy of Holies, where the Ark of the Covenant was kept, separated by a curtain.

The arc of the covenant

The Ark of the Covenant is referred to by three main names in Hebrew:

“Aron Ha-Brit” {ארון הברית} – Meaning 'the Ark of the Covenant,' this name is common in the Hebrew Bible, especially in Deuteronomy and Joshua.

The Ark of the Covenant, also known as the Ark of the Testimony, is a biblical artifact described in the Book of Exodus.

The Ark of the Covenant was also believed to possess great spiritual power.

Based on these dimensions, the Ark of the Covenant would fit inside the sarcophagus in the King's Chamber:

Therefore, the Ark of the Covenant would indeed fit within the sarcophagus in the King's Chamber, though the width would be very snug.

and charged the people as follows: “When you see the Ark of the Covenant of the ETERNAL your God being borne by the levitical priests, you shall move forward.

Follow it— but keep a distance of some two thousand cubits from it, never coming any closer to it—so that you may know by what route to march, since it is a road you have not traveled before.” And Joshua said to the people, “Purify yourselves, for tomorrow GOD will perform wonders in your midst.” Then Joshua ordered the priests, “Take up the Ark of the Covenant and advance to the head of the people…

“And Joshua said to the priests, “Take up the ark of the covenant and pass on before the people.” So they took up the ark of the covenant and went before the people.” (Joshua 3:6)

And upon this chest lay the Torah scroll, as it is stated: “Take this Torah scroll and put it at the side of the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord” (Deuteronomy 31:26).

And Eli’s two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.

This has implications for the understanding of whether the ark of the covenant in the Temple was literally YHWH's throne or simply an indicator of YHWH's immanence.
