The Metaphysical hosts examine Lemuria and Atlantis material that is presented as channeling, not as a dig. Frederick Spencer Oliver, a teenager in the 1880s, said a Tibetan spirit named Phylos dictated A Dweller on Two Planets, including underground cities and a goal called Telos. The book reached print only in 1905, through his mother, after he had died. The hosts set that timing beside Helena Blavatsky, her Secret Doctrine, and early Theosophical meetings, and they treat her as someone building a following from ideas already in circulation. Later Mount Shasta tales, among them Abraham Mansfield’s very tall robed visitor, a gold lined shaft, and a slab that stays warm, strike them as people piling on. Known as the sleeping prophet, he spent his life on medical readings, and sitters in trance described Atlantean lives, flying craft, and a slide into genetic tinkering before disaster. Robed encounters on the mountain, checked by the hosts’ remote viewing, look like inner meetings that were afterward named Lemurian because the books had already said who lived there.
Key points
- Oliver’s book is presented as automatic writing and mental dictation from a spirit called Phylos, begun in 1883 and published in 1905.
- The hosts suspect the Lemuria vogue grew inside Theosophical circles around Blavatsky rather than from an independent discovery.
- They give Cayce more credit because his public record was service through healing readings, not a campaign to found a movement.
- Cayce’s collected remarks describe advanced craft, a loss of spiritual practice, and strange genetic work before a destructive collapse.
- Mansfield’s underground palace and gold rush tales of Lemurians paying in gold are treated as excitement added to an older story.
- Reports of white robed figures are read as astral or inward experiences, later interpreted through the Mount Shasta books.
