Samael Aun Weor (1917 to 1977) was born Víctor Manuel Gómez Rodríguez in Colombia. He moved to Mexico in 1956. He wrote more than sixty books on esoteric spirituality and founded a movement he called Universal Gnosticism. Gnosticism here means a path of inner knowledge meant to awaken consciousness.
He took the name Samael Aun Weor in 1954. His teachings include an account of human history through a series of root races, with Atlantis as the fourth.
Wikipedia notes that much of his teaching was taken, often without credit, from other esoteric writers such as Gurdjieff.
The site has a post on his account, Samael Aun Weor describes the beginning of Atlantis as the emergence of the fourth root race. The book page for Gnostic Anthropology gives his account of the descendants of Atlantis. One video, Our Hidden Connections to Atlantis, Lemuria and Beyond, is tagged with him.
