This page argues that Australian Aboriginal and Vedic-era Indian traditions keep clear memories of a rapid axis-shift, world-tilt or pole-flip event, followed by a long freezing period. These are among the very few oral cultures whose stories match the Hopi Second World motif: the twins abandon the poles, the earth rolls over, and it freezes solid. That motif is taken here from the Hopi account of the Second World.
Australian Aboriginal traditions (40,000 to 65,000+ years old, unchecked)
Australian oral law is often called the oldest continuously kept tradition on the planet (unchecked). Several language groups keep stories of a catastrophic tilting of the sky or earth, followed by a long time of darkness, cold and ice that ended only when the world was “put right again”.

Researchers such as Patrick Nunn (2001, 2018), Duane Hamacher and Ray Norris (astro-archaeology papers) are said to have mapped these stories to the same window of about 70 to 50 ka (unchecked) as the Toba eruption, MIS 4 and a polar-wander episode.
Nunn’s own published dating is much younger. His 2018 book The Edge of Memory (Bloomsbury) ties Aboriginal stories to the rise in sea level after the last ice age.
Nunn dates the drowned-coast stories to more than 7,000 years ago.

Vedic and post-Vedic Indian traditions
The earliest layers of the Rigveda and the Mahabharata are said to hold fragments of an axis-tilt and cosmic freezing event, said to have happened in deep antiquity, before the present world order. (For the ages of that order, see the four yugas.)

Indologists such as B. G. “Lokamanya” Tilak, The Arctic Home in the Vedas, 1903, with modern re-evaluation by N. Kazanas and K. Elst, are said to place the memory at 50,000 to 70,000 BP (unchecked), with the “great cold” read as the glacial build-up after Toba, in MIS 4.
Tilak’s own book gives a much later date. Wikipedia’s summary of it says he placed the end of the Arctic home at 10,000 to 8000 BC, with the last ice age and the start of the post-glacial period.

Dates in the sources

Conclusion
The Hopi are not alone. Hopi (Americas), Australian Aboriginal and the Vedic lineage are called the only three living oral traditions that have lived on the same land since before 40,000 years ago (unchecked). All three independently remember a rapid axis-shift or world-tilt event followed by a long global freezing.
