The Book of Jubilees retells Genesis and the first part of Exodus, dividing history into jubilees of 49 years. It is not part of most Bibles, but it fills in names, dates and details that Genesis leaves out, and that makes it a recurring source on this site for the Watchers, the giants and the Tower of Babel. These are the pages where I used it.
The Watchers and the giants
On The 200 Grigori I note that in Enoch and Jubilees the Watchers were first sent to Earth to teach law and justice to humankind. In Spiritual Traditions of the Descent | Part 1 | Lesson 10 | The Exiles of Capella, the lesson reads Jubilees the same way: the Watchers came to teach the path of perfection and were then seduced by earthly women.
Who Were the Nephilim? treats Jubilees 7:21-25 as a parallel Second Temple tradition, not Bible, in which the flood is partly a way of ridding the earth of the giants. In Moses Tells Us Exactly How the Nephilim Returned After the Flood, Rob Skiba draws on Jasher and Jubilees 7:24 for the mixing of species that provoked judgment.
The Tower of Babel
Jubilees gives one of the most detailed accounts of the Tower anywhere. On Genesis and Atlantis I cite Jubilees 10 in Charles’ 1913 translation: the builders made bricks with fire, used asphalt from the sea and the springs of Shinar as mortar, and worked for forty-three years, until the tower stood 5433 cubits and 2 palms high. Rob Skiba repeats these figures in The Tower of Babel and Confirming the Nimrod – Osiris – Orion – Apollo Connection.
The patriarchs and their wives
Jubilees names the wives Genesis leaves out. On Seth I note that Seth married his younger sister Azura. Methuselah married Edna, daughter of his father’s brother, in the 14th jubilee, and belongs to a chain of figures entrusted with secret traditions passed from Enoch to Noah. Lamech married Betenos in the 15th jubilee.
The Genesis Apocryphon from Qumran follows Jubilees closely: its story of Abram passes through Hebron as in Jubilees, and keeps to the Jubilees timeline rather than the chronologies of Josephus and the rabbis.
