The Incident
One night, while under the influence of meth, Chris experienced a frightening event that led him to believe he was close to death. Though no physical harm occurred, the mental and emotional impact was severe, resulting in what Chris describes as a mental breakdown. His brother’s girlfriend prayed to Archangel Michael for him that night, though Chris was unaware of this at the time.
The Encounter
The next morning, after a difficult night of trying to sleep, Chris woke up feeling completely disconnected from his former self. He describes sitting on the edge of his bed, staring at the wall, feeling lost and without a sense of identity.
While in this state, Chris felt a hand on his shoulder, even though he was alone in the room. Initially, he felt fear, but a voice reassured him, telling him that everything was okay and that help was there. The voice repeated these comforting words, and Chris felt an overwhelming sense of peace and love.
At this point, he felt his consciousness shift, seeing himself from the top corner of his room while his physical body remained on the bed. He saw a tall angel, about 3 meters (9.84 feet) in height, with large wings, Roman-style armor, and a golden chest plate. The angel resembled a Roman centurion and radiated blue and white light. Chris felt an instant connection to the angel, sensing that this being had always been with him.
Life Review
The angel communicated with Chris, explaining that he had been lost but had nothing to worry about. The angel showed him key moments from his past, from childhood through adolescence, highlighting events that had shaped his self-perception. One particular event from his primary school years stood out, where Chris began to feel ashamed of being himself. The angel explained how this single event influenced many of his future decisions, leading him down a dark path.
The angel reassured him that everything in his life had happened for a reason and emphasized that every experience had led him to this moment.
The Vision
The angel then showed Chris a vision of a vast field representing the battle between good and evil. One side was covered in a blue mist, while the other side was red.
The angel explained that Chris had forgotten which side he was on but had now been reminded. Chris felt a strong desire to fight for good but was told to rest and recover.
Revelation of Identity
Toward the end of the encounter, the angel mentioned that Chris was St. Christopher, though Chris was uncertain if this was meant literally or symbolically. The angel reiterated that Chris had nothing to worry about, would always be watched over, and should have faith. The angel then slowly faded away.
Aftermath
After the experience, Chris initially kept the story to himself, fearing others might think he was mentally unstable. When he finally shared it with his brother, his brother suggested that Chris look up Archangel Michael. Upon doing so, Chris was overwhelmed with emotion, recognizing the description of the Archangel as matching the being he had encountered.
Since the encounter, Chris’s life changed significantly. He was healed from his addiction to drugs and has since helped others find faith.
