Akhenaten, Yuya, and a possible Moses

Funny Olde World hunts for a real person inside the Moses story and lands on Akhenaten. The pharaoh, in this telling, tried to pull down the many god order and its gatekeeping priests by example rather than by a record of torture. The one power he wanted was the Aten, met without a priest in between. Old Kingdom reliefs already show it, so he is cast as someone reaching backward across a long cycle of ages, after a split of north and south and a later reunion. His birth name here is Amenhotep the fourth, changed once he ruled. A real official, Yuya, is set beside Joseph because the names sit close and because of dreams at court. On the Moses side a man called Ramos, a tomb scene of twelve groups, and a lost sea fight become the route by which Aten loyalists turn into Israel. The relief is read as propaganda that flips the biblical escape. No clear Moses, no clear departure, and little more than one stele. The comparison is a possible kernel, not a proof.

Key points

  • Akhenaten is pictured dismantling priestly control in favor of a direct link with the Aten.
  • The Aten is treated as an old power already carved in the Old Kingdom, not as his invention.
  • His birth name in this account is Amenhotep IV, changed when he became king.
  • Yuya, a historical official, is offered as a possible Joseph on the strength of name and court role.
  • A figure called Ramos, plus a tomb scene of twelve groups, is the channel’s candidate for a Moses like leader of Aten loyalists.
  • The talk admits that Egyptian records do not show a clear Moses or a clear mass departure.
