Introduction
Host: Kevin Moore
Guest: Clifford Mahuti, member of the Zuni Pueblo Indian Tribe of New Mexico, retired civil environmental engineer, and wisdom keeper of the Zuni history.
Clifford Mahuti’s Mission
Clifford Mahuti: My work involves conveying information and passing on the knowledge for future generations about the Zuni people and other Indian tribes’ practices over thousands of years. With the rapid changes in the world, much of this information has been suppressed, ignored, or lost. I have researched extensively about my tribe’s spirituality, culture, and religion, as well as other tribes like the Hopi and Southwest Pueblo Indian tribes.
Native American Tribes Before Colonization
Clifford Mahuti: Before America was discovered, there were tens of millions of Native Americans from Canada to South America, estimated between 80 and 100 million people across many different tribes. Today, only a small portion of full-blooded American Indians remain, with much of the population now mixed.
The Future of Native Tribes
Clifford Mahuti: The future of Native American tribes is uncertain. We are confined to reservations selected by the U.S. government, which has relocated our tribes from their natural homelands. Outside interference continues to pose challenges.
Casinos on Reservations
Clifford Mahuti: Casinos are a money-making operation meant to benefit Indian tribes. However, they are often managed by big corporations like Harrah’s under long-term leases, with only a small portion of the profits going to the tribes. This system has introduced additional negative impacts, such as increased gambling addiction, without addressing issues like alcoholism, domestic violence, and poverty.
Impact of Colonization on Health
Clifford Mahuti: Before colonization, there were no communicable diseases like smallpox or syphilis among Native Americans. The land was pristine, and the people took only what they needed for survival.
Spiritual Teachings and Oral History
Clifford Mahuti: Native tribes, including the Zuni and Hopi, have a rich oral history that includes connections with star beings. These stories have been suppressed due to the influence of Christianity and other external forces. Sharing these stories is important for preserving our culture and knowledge for future generations.
Interactions with Star Beings
Clifford Mahuti: Native tribes have a history of interaction with star beings, who influenced their spirituality, culture, and survival practices. Different tribes have connections to various constellations, such as the Cherokee with the Pleiades and the Hopi with Orion.
Kachina Society
Clifford Mahuti: The Kachina society represents the star beings. Kachinas bring rain, seeds, and joy to the villages and act as protectors. They are still with us today and play a crucial role in our spiritual practices.
Challenges in Preserving Oral History
Clifford Mahuti: Modern influences like television, the internet, and government interference have created a disconnect with traditional teachings. It is essential to pass on the knowledge to future generations to preserve our culture and history.
Personal Experiences
Clifford Mahuti: I have experienced spiritual connections and UFO phenomena. However, discussing such experiences often leads to ostracization. My purpose is to share my knowledge and experiences to help future generations understand their heritage and spiritual path.
Purpose of Spiritual Awakening
Clifford Mahuti: Spiritual awakening helps individuals understand their purpose in life and stay connected to their heritage. It provides guidance and prevents negative behaviors such as alcoholism and violence.
Conferences and Ufology
Clifford Mahuti: Many speakers at conferences provide false information driven by ego and profit. It is crucial to convey accurate information to help individuals on their spiritual journey.
Belief in the Soul and Life Purpose
Clifford Mahuti: The soul’s journey involves learning and growth. We are here to fulfill our purpose, which is predetermined before birth. Understanding and following this path is essential for a meaningful life.
Conclusion
Clifford Mahuti: My goal is to pass on the knowledge and teachings of the Zuni and other Native tribes to future generations. It is through understanding our history and spiritual practices that we can preserve our culture and continue our journey.
