Ramtha’s life is said to overlap with the period of Atlantis. The two civilizations, Lemuria and Atlantis, are often described as having distinct spiritual and technological paths, with Atlantis being more technologically advanced and Lemuria more spiritually inclined. Ramtha’s teachings sometimes reference the conflicts and interactions between these two civilizations.
Ramtha is an entity that JZ Knight says she channels, and the name of the teachings given through her.
The main published account of his life is Ramtha: The White Book (JZK Publishing, revised edition 2004), compiled from Knight's recorded sessions.
Everything below about Ramtha's life comes from that book and from Knight's own foreword.
In her foreword to The White Book, Knight writes that Ramtha first appeared to her in 1977, in her kitchen on a Sunday afternoon, while she and her husband were making pyramids, while they were dehydrating food.
In the book, Ramtha calls Knight his daughter, and the glossary states that she is the only person he has appointed to channel him.
The book is published by JZK Publishing for Ramtha's School of Enlightenment in Yelm, Washington.
Ramtha dates his single lifetime to 35,000 years ago.
In The White Book, Ramtha is not born in Lemuria itself.
The book tells how, as a boy of fourteen, Ramtha lost his mother and little sister, blamed the Unknown God, and climbed a great mountain to confront him.
On the mountain, Ramtha receives a sword and a charge.
Ramtha claims to have been the first conqueror.
Ramtha says that when he was old, he crossed the Indus River and spent 120 days with his people on the mountain he calls Indus, then ascended in front of them, taking his body into an unseen dimension.
The book presents the teachings as Ramtha's School of Enlightenment, which Ramtha calls a school of the mind and of ancient wisdom dedicated to the Great Work.
Claims to channel a 35,000-year-old warrior spirit named Ramtha.
