Mammoths

Mammoths were large relatives of the elephant that died out after the last Ice Age. Several of my sources read their sudden death as evidence of a catastrophe. In other sources they appear in flood myths, channeled sessions and Hollow Earth stories. The Book of Jehovih mentions the mammoth in chapter IV, verse 19. See the Book of Jehovih, chapter IV.

In Ragnarok: The Age of Fire and Gravel (1883), Ignatius Donnelly advanced a catastrophist theory, claiming that a comet’s near-collision with Earth caused the biblical Flood, the destruction of Atlantis, and the extinction of mammoths.

This is my profile of Ignatius Donnelly, the American politician who wrote Atlantis: The Antediluvian World. In his next book, Ragnarok, he argued that one comet ended Atlantis and the mammoths. He read the world’s flood myths as memories of that event.

Genetic data from fossils reveal population bottlenecks and sharp drops in genetic diversity for species such as mammoths, horses, bison, and cave lions around 50,000–35,000 years ago in high-latitude and other regions.

In his readings, the American psychic Edgar Cayce spoke of “enormous animals” overrunning the earth. Summaries of the readings date a great Atlantean congress about these animals to around 50,722 BC. Here I set that date next to fossil DNA, which shows mammoth numbers crashing between 50,000 and 35,000 years ago.

Numerous species of elephants, mammoths fourteen feet high at the shoulders, massive herds of mastodon, hungry cats and wolves, and large wild horses roamed freely where people attempted to live.

This passage comes from the book Atlantis: Insights from a Lost Civilization. It describes Atlantis around 52,000 BC, when huge animals outnumbered people and destroyed their crops. The book draws on the psychic Ruth Montgomery, who wrote down messages from her spirit guides (automatic writing).

Among those to disappear was the mammoth.

In 1989 the nearly complete skeleton of a mammoth was found at 9,000 feet in central Utah, setting a highaltitude record for the extinct mammals.

The mammoth was believed to have become mired in a bog at the edge of a glacier 10,000 to 15,000 Years ago.

In The Legend of Starcrash, Dolores Cannon recovered the legends of an ancient people through hypnotic regression, a hypnosis method that takes a client back to a past life. Her client described a legendary animal “as big as a house” with long fur and a nose like a tail. Cannon’s own research note identifies it as the mammoth, which died out when the last ice sheet retreated.

The Berelekh mammoth bone-bed on the Berelekh River in Yakutia (Sakha Republic), Arctic Siberia, Russia.

Over 9,000 mammoth bones from at least 156 woolly mammoths (dating ≈12,000–15,000 years ago) were found concentrated in a single 20-meter-long deposit.

For comparison, isolated intact carcasses (e.g., Berezovka mammoth, 1901 find on the Berezovka River) share similar preservation but lack the mass bone accumulation.

This page starts from the Hopi story of a world destroyed by ice when the earth spun off balance. The Berelekh site in Arctic Siberia holds the bones of at least 156 woolly mammoths in one river deposit. The geology on the page explains that pile as floodwater carrying carcasses into a river bend, not as one single catastrophe.

He saw a large mammal, larger than anything he'd ever seen—it was a mammoth.

And after a horrible storm almost takes their lives, they find themselves in a green land with giant plants, extinct animals like mammoths and dinosaurs, and a civilization of giants.

Due to the never-ending day, vegetation would flourish, and perhaps because of the different distribution of elements in the air, different animals or perhaps extinct species like dinosaurs or mammoths would roam the inner Earth.

In this video, Dan Xuisoko argues that the earth is hollow, with openings at the poles and an inner sun. He retells two accounts of the inner world: Admiral Byrd’s 1947 flight and Olaf Jansen’s book The Smoky God. In both accounts, mammoths still live inside the earth.

Other entrances include Mammoth Cave in Kentucky, Mount Shasta in California, the base of the Great Pyramid of Giza, Manaus and Mato Grosso in Brazil, Iguazu Falls on the Brazil-Argentina border, Mount Epomeo in Italy, the Himalayas into Tibet, beneath the China-Mongolia border, Rama in India, and King Solomon's mines.

Secret diary (published post-death) details February 1947 flight: turbulence, wobbling compasses, mountains, green valley, mammoth, warm temperature, city.

Mammoths: remains preserved as they're recent, carried from inside by rivers (not extinction 10,000 years ago).

Simon of Decoding the Unknown reviews the claims about Agartha, a world said to lie inside a hollow earth. In Admiral Byrd’s secret diary, a 1947 flight crosses a green valley where he sees a mammoth. Hollow Earth theorists add that frozen mammoths are recent animals that rivers carried out of the inner world.

Mammoth and bison were torn and twisted as though by a cosmic hand in a godly rage...

mammoth, mastodon...

Chan Thomas wrote The Adam and Eve Story about great cataclysms that return again and again in human history. In this passage he quotes Professor Frank C. Hibben’s book The Lost Americans. Hibben describes the frozen mud of Alaska, packed with mammoths and other animals that died suddenly in one catastrophe.

Tales of woolly mammoths abound, but one of the best documented of such accounts appeared in the 1990 book of Alaska zoology by Dale Guthrie entided Frozen Fauna of the Mammoth Steppe.

This chapter of Our Occulted History asks whether Atlantis lies under the ice of Antarctica after a pole shift, a sudden move of the earth’s poles. Charles Hapgood, Immanuel Velikovsky and their followers point to animals that froze so fast that food was still in their mouths. The book reads frozen mammoths as proof that the earth froze almost instantly.

A plate made from mammoth ivory, unique to this collection, is thought to represent a map.

Professor Alice Roberts visits the storerooms of the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg. The objects there come from Ice Age families who sheltered from the cold in southern Siberia, at refuges such as Mal’ta. Some researchers read the central hole in the mammoth ivory plate as a link between the physical and spiritual worlds.

The woolly mammoth also became extinct around 12,000 years ago.

Many woolly mammoths have been discovered with undigested grass in their mouths and stomachs, indicating they died suddenly, without warning.

On this page I line up the events that ended Atlantis, from Plato’s account to a comet described by Bashar, a being channeled by Darryl Anka. The sudden death of the woolly mammoth around 12,000 years ago is one of those events. From these events I date the Great Flood between 10,800 and 9,500 BCE.

Like the bones of the mammoth, it remains a monument of the destruction produced by a succession of ages.

In Atlantis: The Antediluvian World, Ignatius Donnelly argues that the Iberians of ancient Spain came from Atlantis. He quotes Duponceau on Basque, a language kept alive by a few thousand mountain people. Duponceau calls Basque the last fragment of a lost family of languages, like the bones of the mammoth.

Let no man marvel because of the size of the mammoth and the ichthyosaurus, for there was a time for them as there is a time for the infusoria of this day.

In the Book of Jehovih from Oahspe, chapter IV describes how worlds are born, grow old and dissolve. Verse 19 says the mammoth had its time, just as the infusoria, tiny water organisms, have theirs today. I read this as a sign that each stage of the earth carries its own animals.

monuments date back to the time of the mammoth in North America, or these people held intercourse at some time in the

In this chapter of Atlantis: The Antediluvian World (1882), Ignatius Donnelly looks for signs of early contact between America and Atlantis. “Intercourse” is his 19th-century word for that contact. He argues that American images of elephants, like the Elephant Mound in Wisconsin, date from the time of the mammoth or come from a people who kept elephants, like Plato’s Atlanteans.

The civilization had a range of animals, including some that no longer exist, like mammoths.

In this channeling session, Ginger Bayley speaks with Erik, a spirit guide, about a civilization near Hawaii that sank in a matter of hours. Erik says its people kept animals that no longer exist, such as mammoths. They used animals for short trips and energy-based transport for long ones.

They also hunted larger animals like woolly mammoths, though such hunts were rare due to the difficulty in capturing these large creatures.

In this session, Ginger Bayley channels a Neanderthal, with the spirit guide Erik leading the conversation. The Neanderthal describes the animals their people used for fur in the cold seasons. Mammoth hunts happened, but rarely, because the animals were so hard to catch.

The beasts which they hunted at that very early period were mammoths with long woolly hair, elephants and hippopotami.

W. Scott-Elliot wrote The Story of Atlantis from the occult research of members of the Theosophical Society. In his timeline, the Rmoahals and the Tlavatli were the first two sub-races of the Atlanteans, millions of years ago. Their hunters went after woolly mammoths, elephants and hippopotami with spears and bows.

Mammoths: Kayleigh traces the evolution of mammoths from the southern mammoth (Mammuthus meridionalis) to the steppe mammoth and woolly mammoth.

The southern mammoth roamed the landscape until their extinction around 9,650 years ago, with woolly mammoths surviving on isolated islands for thousands of years longer.

Woolly Rhinoceros: These species coexisted with the mammoths and lived until around 10,000 years ago.

Saber-Toothed Cats: These predators, including the Smilodon, hunted large prey such as young mammoths.

Kayleigh made this documentary about Doggerland, the land that once joined England to the Netherlands and now lies under the sea. She traces three kinds of mammoth that lived there: the southern, the steppe and the woolly mammoth. Saber-toothed cats such as Smilodon hunted the young mammoths.

For instance, a mammoth appears in the Siberian version of the "Cosmic Hunt," but not in European or American versions.

John White of Crecganford traces the Cosmic Hunt, a myth in which a hunter chases an animal that becomes a constellation. He estimates the myth at 30,000 to 40,000 years old, spread by human migration. Each region tells it with its own animals, so the Siberian version has a mammoth.

These images could indicate either that the monuments date back to when mammoths roamed North America or that there was contact with civilizations familiar with elephants.

This page sets out Ignatius Donnelly’s evidence for early contact between America and Europe or Atlantis. The fourth point is about elephants in American art, such as the elephant mounds of Wisconsin. Plato wrote that the Atlanteans kept elephants, which supports the contact explanation.

During the Stone Age, man was a hunter and gatherer; he hunted mammoth, wild horses, and reindeer.

The Chronicle of Akakor tells the history of the Ugha Mongulala, a tribe that Tatunca Nara said was “chosen by the Gods” 15,000 years ago. The book sets the tribe’s history next to world history, era by era. This passage gives the standard view of the Stone Age, when hunters followed mammoth, wild horses and reindeer.
