The Story of Atlantis
No longer submitting to the wise rule of the Initiate emperors, the followers of the "black arts" rose in rebellion and set up a rival emperor, who after much struggle and fighting drove the white emperor from his capital, the "City of the Golden Gates," and established himself on his throne.
The great "City of the Golden Gates" had by this time become a perfect den of iniquity.
We shall eventually find a Semite dynasty of sorcerers enthroned in the "City of the[31] Golden Gates," but no Toltec power rose to eminence during the second map period.
Their colonists, who generally took to the nomadic life, almost exclusively adopted this form, but as we have seen they developed a considerable empire in the days of the[33] second map period, and possessed the great "City of the Golden Gates." They ultimately, however, had to give way before the growing power of the Akkadians.
In the case of houses of any importance four blocks of building surrounded a central courtyard, in the centre of which generally stood one of the fountains whose number in the "City of the Golden Gates" gained for it the second appellation of the "City of Waters." There was no exhibition of goods for sale as in modern streets.
The "City of the Golden Gates" and its surroundings must be described before we come to consider the marvellous system by which its inhabitants were supplied with water.
Now it does not require much mechanical knowledge in order to realize how stupendous must have been the works needed to provide this supply, for in the days of its greatness[51] the "City of the Golden Gates" embraced within its four circles of moats over two million inhabitants.
If the system of water supply in the "City of the Golden Gates" was wonderful, the Atlantean methods of locomotion must be recognised as still more marvellous, for the air-ship or flying-machine which Keely in America, and Maxim in this country are now attempting to produce, was then a realized fact.
After a small share had been put aside for the emperor and the central government at the "City of the Golden Gates," the produce of the whole district or kingdom was divided among[60] the inhabitants—the local viceroy and his retinue of officials naturally receiving the larger portions, but the meanest agricultural labourer getting enough to secure him competence and comfort.
Sun and fire worship then became the cult for the celebration of which magnificent temples were reared throughout the length and breadth of the continent of Atlantis, but more especially in the great "City of the Golden Gates"—the temple service being performed by retinues of priests endowed by the State for that purpose.
The Fourth Root Race
Formation of the City of the Golden Gates: The City of the Golden Gates is founded by the Toltec sub-race.
Reign of Mars: Mars rules as Emperor in the City of the Golden Gates.
Ruled vast territories and established significant cities like the City of the Golden Gates.
Some of these came into the Tlavatli sub-race, and some later into the Toltec, when it was evolved ; and then He again incarnated in the latter, and founded the City of the Golden Gates, the first of many successive cities of that name.
Even in the City of the Golden Gates, only the aristocracy and the middle class were Toltec ; the lower classes were of mixed blood, and were largely composed of men and women taken captive in wars with other sub-races, and reduced to servitude by their conquerors.
In one of these early lives, Corona — a very fine fighter — came from the City of the Golden Gates, and conquered the Tlavatli tribe in which our friends had incarnated.
Taking a bird's-eye-view, we notice that there were occasional gatherings of the whole big Clan, as in the City of the Golden Gates when Mars was King, in Peru when he was Emperor, in the mainland near the White Island under the Manu, and in the second and third subraces at their beginnings and their migrations — to take a few instances out of many.
Coming down to 220,000 B.C., to the City of the Golden Gates, we find Mars there ruling as Emperor, and bearing by inheritance the title of * Divine Ruler,' transmitted from Those who had ruled in the past, the great Initiates of earlier days.
Its centre was in the City of the Golden Gates — the name was preserved — but it spread far and wide over the world, both over Africa and the West.
Corona was then the White Emperor at the City of the Golden Gates ; Mars was a general under him, and Herakles was the wife of Mars.
Against the White Cave of Initiation in the City of the Golden Gates was set up the Dark Cave in which the mysteries of Pan, the Earth-God, were celebrated.
Beginning of the 5th Root Race
He was in possession of the City of the Golden Gates, and the nobler types of the Atlanteans were much oppressed.
Atlantean Peruvian Civilization
— the earlier Cities of the Golden Gates had been sunk beneath the waves for many thousands of years, and though the chief of the Kings of the Island of Poseidonis still arrogated to himself the beautiful title which had belonged to them, he made no pretence to imitate the methods of Government which had ensured them a stability so far beyond the common lot of human arrangements.
The Civilisation of Atlantis
Scott-Elliot describes the famous City of the Golden Gates as surrounded by a beautiful, park-like landscape dotted with villas of the wealthy.
Water Management: The City of the Golden Gates had an elaborate water system with concentric canals and cascading waterfalls.
Scott-Elliot thus describes the famous City of the Golden Gates: "A, beautifully wooded park-like country surrounded the city.
Atlanteans
Their capital, The City of the Golden Gates, was incredibly advanced with a population of two million.
The Pleiadians
The Pleiades and the Hyades together form the Golden Gate of the Ecliptic, a significant astronomical configuration.
