James J. Hurtak is an American author and the founder of the Academy for Future Science, a non-profit organisation he runs with his wife, Desiree Hurtak.
In 1973 he published The Book of Knowledge: The Keys of Enoch. The Academy says one of its aims is to test the book’s teachings against 64 areas of modern science.
His official biography says he holds two doctorates, from the University of California (1977) and the University of Minnesota (1993). It also says he studied early Greek, Latin and Coptic Christian literature at Luther Theological Seminary.
