While I wrote the dimensions article, I noticed that the sources say the most surprising things about time. They do not describe time as a straight line from past to future. They describe a spiral, a code, and a measure that only works inside one local sector of space.
This page collects those passages in one place. I kept every quote word for word, with the source named.
What time is
Time can be seen as a continuum where movement and speed are measured in a straight line. The sources below say that this is only how time looks from the third dimension. In Matias de Stefano’s order of the dimensions, time and space first appear in the 2nd dimension as the two sides of polarity. They collapse into one experience in the 3rd dimension. The 4th dimension then measures repetition and timing. The 8th dimension is the place where every being sees all timelines at once.
Time is a spiral
In The Golden Lake the speaker draws time as a spiral. Old civilizations such as Lyra sit at the wide top, where evolution goes slowly. Earth sits near the narrow end, where it goes fast.
A really important thing to remember is that time is like a spiral [figure 10.2]. The wider, or top, part of the spiral represents the beginning of evolution. In that part of the spiral, time and evolution appear to move slowly. Thus, the Lyran civilization’s evolutionary process was very long. Newer civilizations that descended from the ancients — such as Sirius and Earth — have had a much faster evolutionary cycle. Earth is on the lower end of the spiral of evolution. The momentum of your ancestors’ evolution fuels your acceleration. Your evolutionary cycler is quicker even though we know it does not feel that way.

Galactic history is holographic
Remember that even though we have to present galactic history in a linear way, it is not linear; it is holographic.
The Golden Lake

I read this as a warning about my own timelines. When I put events in order on the 26,000 year timeline, I use a line because a line is easy to read. The source says the real picture has no such order.
Time codes and plays with information
The Pleiadians in Barbara Marciniak’s Bringers of the Dawn say time is not measured in minutes. They say time can be bent to move between realities, and that the future is still open.
Time is greatly misunderstood in third-dimensional reality: you believe that time is measured in minutes or degrees. Time is much vaster than you realize. In actuality, time codes and plays with information, allowing you to move into realities simultaneously by stretching, distorting, curving, and twisting time around. You can get on an elliptical curve of time and experience many realities by simply going around the elliptical curve and discovering that, as time is not "solid," neither is reality. As all realities are not solid, and as the future is not set (it is only a number of probabilities), we see an opportunity at this time to insert a more positive probability for Earth.
Bringers of the Dawn

Here the future is “only a number of probabilities”. That matches the passage in the dimensions article where a hypnosis client hears that each action has countless versions happening at once.
Outside the structure of time
The same book says the creator gods live outside our time. For them a year can hold 100,000 of ours. They place very old human civilizations under the ice of Antarctica, much older than Lemuria or Atlantis.
Outside the structure of time, 100,000 years can pass in what may be a year within the structure of time as you know it. These creator gods did not exist in time as you know it. A few hundred thousand years or a million years was nothing to them. Different energies were brought into existence. There were species of humans on Earth perhaps 500,000 years ago who developed very highly evolved civilizations. We are not speaking of the civilizations that you call Lemuria or Atlantis; to us, those civilizations are modern. We are talking about civilizations that are ancient, civilizations that are buried under some of the ice caps of the far southern continent of Antarctica.
Bringers of the Dawn

One year as part of a day
The next passage turns this around. One of our years may be a small part of a day for others. That is why Earth seems left alone for the last few thousand years.
Others do not live within the structure of time as you know it. What you call one year perhaps to others may be only one small portion of a day. If you can really begin to comprehend this, you can understand why this planet has seemingly been left to itself for the last few thousand years.
Bringers of the Dawn

Locked in the time frame of Earth
Marciniak’s Pleiadians say time works differently outside our local sector. To us it feels like a long wait since anything cosmic happened on Earth. On the larger scale it has been short.
Since time does not exist as you know it outside of your local sector, things are left to work themselves out. So, to you humans, it seems as if it has been a long time since any kind of cosmic planetary excitement has taken place on Earth. In the larger scheme of evolution, it has not been so long, but because you are locked in the time frame of Earth, it feels as if it has been a long time.

Space travel is time travel
The Golden Lake ties travel in space to the heart. The speaker says we will travel through space and time when our consciousness moves into fourth density.
The heart is spiral-time navigation. This is one reason humans are not ready for space travel right now; you only know how to travel on the surface of space. As your consciousness evolves and moves more and more into fourth density, you’ll be able to space travel — which is also time travel — using the spiral principle.
