The Nephilim are on the earth “in those days, and also afterward.” The same verse links them with “mighty men of old, men of renown.” Those mighty men are the gibborim: heroes or mighty warriors.

For me Genesis 6 already invites a paleo-contact reading of the sons of Elohim and the Nephilim, the kind of trail Biglino, Wallis, von Däniken, and Hancock also walk.

Meaning: the post-flood tradition claims that Anak and the Anakim descend from the Nephilim, and it stresses great size.
