Neanderthals come up on this site in three different ways. Some pages treat them as bones, genes and stone tools. Some pages let a Neanderthal speak through a channel. And some older Atlantis writers use them as the rough background that a finer race walked out of. I keep the three side by side and I do not ask you to pick one.
What the science says
On Is the Out of Africa Theory Outdated? I follow the 2010 draft of the Neanderthal genome. People outside Africa share more variants with Neanderthals than Africans do, which means the two groups had children together. The newcomers did not simply replace them, and many of us still carry a small part of that ancestry.
On A Key Period in Human Evolution Wasn’t in Africa – David Reich Reich says the genetic record holds many early branches from Eurasia and only one from Africa. He describes early modern humans entering the Near East hundreds of thousands of years ago and mixing with Neanderthals there.
On A BBC test of Neanderthal tools Bruce Bradley and Metin Eren copied tools from both traditions. The older method wasted less stone and gave more usable edge, so the idea that our ancestors simply had better blades starts to look weak.
Four channeled interviews
The series starts with Interview with a Neanderthal (Part 1), where Ginger Bayley channels her late son Erik, and Erik brings forward a Neanderthal who calls himself Tom. Tom says Neanderthals were made by mixing humanoid and extraterrestrial DNA, and that they lived separately but peacefully beside other humanoids. Part 2 covers trade, grief and love, children raised by the whole village, and contact with extraterrestrials. Part 3 turns to life in harmony with nature and a claim about how much of the brain they used. Part 4, Could Neanderthals Astral Travel? asks about crystals, healing plants and a few revered people who could travel out of the body. All of this is channeled testimony, and I record it as that.
Atlantis and archaic DNA
On Atlantis, Fallen Angels, and Archaic DNA Robert Sepehr reads Plato’s phrase “mortal admixture” against modern sequencing of Neanderthals, Denisovans and Homo erectus. A much older view sits on The History of Atlantis (1926). Spence wrote before any genome was read:
This race arrived in Europe at the close of the Ice Age, or roughly about 25,000 years ago, and seems to have practically wiped out the low and undeveloped human type, known as the Neanderthal, which it found in sparse possession.
Lewis Spence, The History of Atlantis (1926), p. 80
The gene results above point the other way: the two peoples met and mixed.
