Paschal Beverly Randolph’s Pre-Adamite Man argues that Adam was not the first man. The copy I used is the sixth edition, Toledo, Ohio, Randolph Publishing Company, 1888. The title page says the human race existed 100,000 thousand years ago. The preface says certainly 35,000 years, and probably 100,000. Later he dates Plato’s Atlantis at 9,000 years before Plato, and he prints a table that puts Nimrod, Atlantis, and Babylon at 16,000 B.C.
