Michael Tsarion, in a live Names / rocket-ships line I keep on this trail, offers a paleo-contact reading of the Hebrew name:
By the summer of 1835 they had made their way into the possession of Michael Chandler, who displayed them in Kirtland, Ohio, which at the time was the home of the Latter Day Saints, led by Joseph Smith.
Inherited from me (I suppose) by one only of my children [Michael], though I did not know that about my son until recently, and he did not know it about me.
Among them are Jibril (Gabriel), Mikail (Michael), Israfil (Raphael), and others.
He did however know about the archangel Michael.
