Gayomart (Lifespan of 3,000 years) body gave rise to the first human couple, Mashya and Mashyana, from whom all human beings are descended.

Mashya and Mashyana

Mashya and Mashyana were said to have been born from a rhubarb plant, which grew from the body of the primordial man, Gayomard (also known as Keyumars).

After Gayomard's death, his body was purified by the sun, and from his seed, the rhubarb plant sprouted, giving rise to Mashya and Mashyana.

Gayomart, the first mortal human being

In Zoroastrian mythology Gayomart, also written Gayomard or Gayōmart, is the first mortal human being.

Ahura Mazda, the supreme god of Zoroastrianism, created Gayomart as the first man and the ancestor of the human race.

The Bundahishn gives Gayomart three thousand years in the world.

When the evil spirit broke into the world, the same chapter says, Gayomart had only thirty more years.

From Gayomart's death came the first human couple, Mashya and Mashyana (West: Mashyôi), from whom all people descend.

In the Bundahishn the evil spirit's attack on Gayomart is one step in its assault on the whole creation.

The figure of Gayomart passed into later Persian myth and literature.

In Zoroastrian myth Gayomart is linked with the elements, the Earth and plants.

In the Bundahishn the evil spirit attacks them in that order, ending with Gayomart and then fire.

As the first human, Gayomart is bound up with all of them.

After Gayomart's death the sun purified his seed.

Aúra-Masda is also the god of the sky, wisdom, abundance, and fertility. He can prophesy. He is accompanied by a group of spirits called the Amshaspends. He is the father of Atar, the fire of heaven; of Gayomart, the first mortal human being (the first human being, according to Persian mythology, had been Ima, who was immortal), created from light and who would have given rise to all other human beings; and of Mitra, god of wisdom, war and the sun.

Ahura Mazda then created Gayomard and Gavaevodata:
